They are pretty set on it and seem to have it all worked out.

They're not gonna back down on this.

Anyways, makes sense that the Imperials would be able to join any alliance. They are shrewd diplomats, after all.

What it is, is a broken promise that the monthly sub was going to be the only paywall to access content.

Putting one of the more popular races behind a paywall in a money grab AFTER promising not to do it doesn't make me feel that good about them as a company any more.

So it's another 25 euros (in EU) more than the game's standard price, just for playing as an Imperial, and having a madcrub pet.

With 25 euros you can buy a full PC game on retail stores in EU.

If imperial is an unlockable race in game I don't see a problem with it being added to the Ce edition of the game. If only people buying the ce can play it period then there is a problem.

does not matter, it is still a paygate, something they were PRoud to say they did not have at all and would never have.

looks lke i was right originally, NEVER trust an MMO company and always expect them to try to screw you over with lies

So if I get it right, anything labeled "Imperial" in this game will be sold separately and be better than the rest ?

possibly not, but it is still breaking an promise they made and now you have to buy something in a game that $15 a month AND at least $60 right off that bat.

It's not a horse faster than the normal ones.
Nowhere does it say that.

The differences are purely cosmetic, so far. They should go into detail if there will be exclusive racial habilities eventually.

You get the Imperial edition if you want to stand out from the crowd and feel like a special snowflake.

If it is already in the store and ppl are able to buy it, there won't be any changes anymore. So it is set.

I'm gonna buy it :P

That's because they're digital. The leaked image was for the physical one.

Strange thing is that I can′t neither find this in Elder Scrolls Online official store (? as the ′its real...′ link indicates) nor I can go back to official ESO store from the given link - no matter that it has (broken or fake?) ′store′ option built in...

If this is an hoax, than it is an particular nasty one, since it asks for your account and financial information.

None is forcing you to buy it, and you do not lose anything if you buy the standard edition.

Nope, Imperials weren't a race in the series until Morrowind. I don't think Orcs were playable until then either :P

You mean playable race, not race in general? Because Arena starts out in the Imperial dungeon.

Our response is very restrictive as we are fans.
Now guess how the haters will react, that is not an huge issue as they will not buy the game anyway.

However this will tip lots of people in the: not sure group over in the don't buy group.

Let do some budgeting: game cost $60 the Imperial edition is 20% more expensive or $72 (don't have the US prices) Subscription is $180 for a year.

Now be optimistic, say half buy the imperial edition: they pay 72+180=252 not 240, or 5% more over a year.

If half buy it it will increase revenue with 2.5%, however if this causes 3% of the players to drop it, something who is reasonable they looses money on this brilliant idea.

Yes, the imperial edition probably causes them to loose money after a year, if less than half of the players buy it, say 25% only just 1.5% lost sales will loose money.
