Q&A Only the 3 generic factions and no Werewolves?

Post » Wed Jul 06, 2011 1:57 am

So the Q&A was okay. We waited 2 months for only 25 questions and 75% of those we already had an idea or knew about. The most asked question was if there were werewolves in the game and they not only dodged that question but did not even mention werewolves in the question, instead they put creature. So I'm assuming there is no werewolves becuase that was a highly demanded fan question and they did not want to talk about for some stupid reason that makes no sense at all what so ever. If they wanted to make us happy they would have said YES just like they did with Oblivion saying YES for Vampires and NO for Werewolves. The 2nd thing that really pissed me off was that they did not announce any other factions, not even the rumored DarkBrotherHood or any thing new. They keep saying "MAIN" factions but who cares they are generic and redundant. Atleast announce some new creatures/enemies.

Now there was some small postive things like the new Dragon armour and marriage and tavern brawls which also confirmes that there will be H2H combat.

NOTE: I know most are sad about the "Armour set" being one piece but we kinda already knew this and its not a big deal to me becuase it will still look badass anyway, have you seen the Elven armour yet? : D

Another person that can't read, see operative words, or actually use the search function, hooray!

Three MAJOR factions (there's still other minor factions like DB which was already confirmed, Morag Tong is also a possibility).

Werewolves aren't confirmed to not be in, but not confirmed to exist either.

Don't assume there are no werewolves.

We have very little info. They have to save some stuff for later in the year.

How is Morag Tong a possibility, exactly?

Really? Why would they avoid that question if there weren't werewolves? They haven't held back with flat out saying that there aren't spears or crossbows or other things. Chances are they hold back in revealing that because there ARE werewolves (or something similar) and it's a big cool thing that they don't want to spoil from people asking too many questions.

Also, come on people, learn to have appropriate expectations. People were expecting the fan interview to be some amazing thing that informed everyone about everything or something. It's unbelievable to me how much complaining goes on sometimes.

Dark Brotherhood - confirmed

Arena teams - seem very likely to me, considering (i) the history of Arena teams in Skyrim and (ii) how upset Emil Pagliarulo got after he painstakingly crafted arenas in each city of Cyrodiil, complete with unique NPCs, quests and recorded voiced dialog, only to have it all get scrapped due to disc size limitations

a few other guild-type factions still possible

Why did'nt they announce it in the Q&A when it was asked a hundred times? Conclusion: They are not joinable. I'm tired of hearing the MAJOR, okay so what. What about talking about some new interesting ones.

Well first of all, they have a rivalry with DB, and with the events that occurred in Morrowind in the 4th era and having Dunmer refugees taking hold in Skyrim increases the likelihood.

EDIT: The conclusion is it wasn't answered in the Q&A because it was answered beforehand and had no purpose to be brought up again. DB is confirmed, and is a joinable minor faction. Deal with it.

They don't seem to have a nation now. They will be illegal. I personally doubt it.

Dark Brotherhood is not confirmed by Bethesda themselves, but only a few small gaming websights that think they are in becuase bethesda said they had fun making it in Oblivion. Still not a confirmed. Source?

vampires and werewolves... the only good they do in a game is to be killed! the only reason I would want either in the game is to become a vampire/werewolf hunter....

I was a vampire hunter in Oblivion and had a blast... then I became one.... gross...

Or it is something they are still play testing and don't know one way or the other. Just because its their now doesn't mean it won't be cut. I'd assume they just aren't 100% sure how that is going to work yet.

There were plenty of other questions that remain to be answered as well. Don't assume anything, or you'll look like an idiot when it's proven false :)

I expected this and am perfectly unsurprised by the amount of complaining. Maybe I read to much history.

Maybe, here's a CRAZY idea, some folks think the major factions are interesting! Oh, nope, never mind. That's just ridiculous. Why would they be in a game that is so patently a sellout to mindless casuals if they were interesting? /sarcasm.

Your conclusion has no actual basis aside from your own pessimism and impatience. I am of the fast-growing opinion that the entire forum should have been locked for three weeks in a massive, enforced version of the "write an angry letter and put it in a drawer" idea.

I really don't care if I look like an idiot, I really could give a crap what people think about me, if I get proven wrong, I will be jumping with joy.

Saying they are not ready to answer that question due to wanting to keep it a surprise leans more towards the side of yes. They did not confirm or deny it so how can you even draw a conclusion like that? They had no problems telling us NO when it was a NO. Maybe usually lean towards "Yes but we want you to be surprised." Think about it this way as well... they could have just not answered it at all if it were a no. they know how many people would have been disappointed if it were a no. Don't be such a downer. I do admit that they could and should have answered more and better questions but this particular response does not deny werewolves.

The Dark Brotherhood is illegal but that doesn't stop them from operating in and around Tamriel. Hell, even the Morag Tong went beyond Morrowind's borders to hunt and kill their targets.

I don't think a nation being destroyed is enough to merit the complete eradication of a faction. One city in Skyrim (the name escapes me) is heavily influenced and populated by surviving Dunmer. I like to think it's possible that surviving cells of the Morag Tong have relocated to this city and may be operating in the under ground, carrying out free lance work or doing deeds for former/current House members.

I don't buy that. People were saying that Todd Howard did a 1 hour interview in the UK and confirmed werewolves and how they handled, there were like 50 calling me names becuase I said thats not possible becuase word would get out on the forums and they would announce them in the fan interview.

Well that is perfectly fine to believe whatever you wish to believe but the title of your topic leans more towards an absolute which is just not true in any sense. You can't say "and no werewolves" when it hasn't been confirmed or denied. You can assume that there might not be any based on your own opinions but it doesn't make it fact. That is all I meant. You are entitled to your own opinion. Sorry people called you names but I have no intention of going that direction.
