OOO and other mods

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:44 pm

Hi everyone,
After 3 years of playing without any mods whatsoever, (I ignorantly thought they would mess up the game  ), I installed OOO, and I have to say Oblivion has greatly improved with this wonderful mod. I'm still quite new at this mod bussines however, and before I go downloading more I would like some advice on great mods. I've seen the mod MMM around, but does it work with OOO?
Thanks in advance guys, and if there are any mods you couldn't play without anymore please tell me!

Yes, MMM does work with OOO. Once you download MMM from wherever, I believe there is a specific plugin you have to use called 'MMM for OOO.' There is also http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12060, which combines MMM and OOO even more, but I have never tried this mod myself.

Quoted for emphasis!

Beyond that -- someone will post the List of Lists soon enough, and you should browse through the first four or five pages of the forums. Seriously, just open every thread... get an idea of what sorts of things people have done. It's hard to know what you want when you don't know what's possible. :)

Yes, OOO works with MMM, just use the MMM for OOO files.

Mods I'd recommend:

Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) (does nothing on its own, but is required by many great mods) http://obse.silverlock.org/
Unofficial Oblivion Patch (fixes countless bugs with Oblivion, there's no reason that ANYONE who uses Oblivion on the PC should not have this) http://www.baldurdash.org/TESOblivion/TESOblivion.html
FCOM (OOO + MMM + much more) http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1094510-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/
All+3Modifiers (makes it so that the bonuses for attributes when you level are always +3 [as long as you've levelled a skill of that attribute at least once], I've found that it means that I can just play as I want to without gimping myself, but it's not for everyone) http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?id=2527&view=OblivionMods.Detail
Mannimarco Revisited (makes Mannimarco less of a wimp and more like what lore says that he SHOULD be) http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14200
Oblivion Stutter Remover (reduces stutter, improves the frame rate a little [not much though, mostly reduces stutter] and improves stability - everyone should get this) http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23208

Well, actually... yeah, they can. And frequently do, for a number of people, who might otherwise be quite lucky, observant, diligent, you name it.

Just sayin'. Basically, brace yourself for the possibility, at any rate, particularly if you mix and match *a lot*, and even more so if you live "on the bleeding edge" of modding. Naturally, there's usually a way to fix just about problem you might encounter. But patience is, at times, required.

I can't play without any mods contained in http://docs.google.com/View?id=dq2p85r_8cqgfb9gt. Well, I can live without some of the optional ones, but not any of the core mods.
