OOO and Race Balancing Project (Light) / Less Annoying Magic

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:05 pm

I want to use OOO in conjuction with Race Balancing Project (Light!) and Less Annoying Magic Experience, the last mods overwriting OOO. I know these mods overlap in a lot of areas, mostly in the races, birthsigns and magic sections. I`m particularly concerned with the latter. I`m using the full version of OOO, which comes with implemented ESPs like OOO-Magic_Effects+Enchantments.esp, OOO-Magic_Effects+Spells.esp and OOO-Magic_Game_Settings.esp. I`m sure there are some people here using OOO in conjuction with RBP and LAME. Can I safely use both mods and be sure that RBP and LAME overwrites everything of OOO it needs or are there any potential conflicts with this mod setup? Please share your experiences.

OOO, RBP and LAME work perfectly together. If you want to be sure install OOO first, then RBP and LAME. Be sure to use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 to create a bash patch so every works together.
If you use RBP and LAME you might want to look at http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1184421-relz-integration-the-stranded-light/, which is a great quest mod, with lots of extras on top of OOO.
Edit: added some links.
Edit 2: I saw in your other thread you know about Wrye Bash. I also recommend http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516, which helps both sorting and adding patch tags.

I use FCOM (of which OOO is of course part) together with LAME and the full version of RBP without any significant issues. Since the mods touch the same records there will of course be "conflicts" in that LAME/RBP will be overriding some of the changes from OOO, but everything works pretty well in practice.

My suggestion is to review a conflict report in TES4EDIT so you can see which records are being touched and you have an idea of what the impact will be.

Thanks for your replies and for the link to the quest mod. Yeah I`m using Wrye Bash and BOSS, so that`s fine. I think bg2408 made his mods with OOO in mind or he at least knew this overhaul very well and there`s nothing about conflicts with OOO in his readmes, so I`ll guess I can leave it like that. Thanks again!

I would actually suggest installing the full version of RBP instead of the light.

This gives you access to the Integration quest mod, which is quite a treat and well worth the time.
