I sincerely have no idea why you have such a vested interest in arguing that point. It's my opinion, and it's going to remain my opinion. You're free to disagree with it (as you obviously do) but no amount of carefully parsed rhetoric is going to change it, so I'm not sure what it is that you seek to gain. We'll see come November. If I'm right, then I'm right. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. Nothing that either you or I post now is going to have the slightest bearing on that.

Good, now you get it. Take that to heart before you post trying to smear my posts by rifling through a thesaurus for synonyms of words that make me look less credible by compromising my post's intelligence. It gets annoying on the 10th thread where you quote my posts and flame me just because we disagreed in a past thread, now you know how it feels and I didn't even flame

So now that is out of the way, maybe we can have civil discussions from now on.

OT, we will have to see how Skyrim goes to see if there will be an OOO for Skyrim though I'm sure there will be one anyway because there will be someone that doesn't like a few features about Skyrim.

Everthing I've seen seen so far points to a much fuller experience and more content than oblivion.

But I have no doubt that such overhauls will be made regardless of how many flaws might be fixed. Mostly because they aren't there solely to fix flaws but they add tons of content for those who've finished the vanilla game and they allow you to customize the experience too.

Took me a while, but I got all, or most of the leveled list mods into Oblivion. And its amazing.
Mainly, I will look for weapon, armor and creature mods. Nothing as broad as OOO, because the level scaling and balance have been improved.
Edit: That is after My first few playthroughs. I had about 20 before I added OOO.

I think they've learned plenty from oblivion to avoid the need for an overhaul. Just from what we've seen so far, it look like Skyrim will be exceptionally better.

Oi, you two bickering couple up there: get a room, for effs sake.

Back on topic, I think it is pretty much inevitable for a similar mod to appear eventually; they cannot please every single person out there, but at least they give 'em the tools to let them get what they want. That's plenty generous already if you ask me.

Hey look - it's "conspiracy theories" - still holding its position near the top of the list of message board pseudo-intellectual buzzwords. Don't have a valid argument? Just accuse your opponent of a "conspiracy theory" and you don't need one!

What's next? Are you going to be proving Godwin's Law for us?

I can comfortably predict that Skyrim will have less content and more fluff than its predecessors, for the simple reason that that's what Beth has done with every game since Daggerfall. That's what they have to do - they're catering to an ever-larger market. They've had to grow beyond the RPG niche market, and they have. Successfully, I might add. But that means that they leave RPG elements behind, and that means that something like OOO has to fill in those gaps. And I can comfortably predict that that will happen.

I'm comfortable with the presumption that I'll be proven right. And it's not as if it makes that much difference in the grand scheme of things anyway - I'll undoubtedly buy the game and play it and (hopefully, at least) enjoy it anyway. But I'll note, with the sadness with which I've noted it with each new game in the series, the elimination of yet more content and the way in which the new gimmicks just don't quite manage to make up for it. But... you know.... it'll still be Elder Scrolls, and that's still a good thing.

I think Skyrims perk system based on what we know is more complex than prior games.

There will always be overhauls, I hope FWE style one, basically just a huge customizer for the game. I wish all games had this level of options.

Look, I am not a mod, and I am in complete agreement with your opinion but let's not get carried away, OK? Leave that discussion to the other thread.

no point continuing the arguement man it'll just get the thread locked.
Although I find it weird you got such a reaction from an offhand comment that wasn't even directed at him.

Hopefully Skyrim won't need a huge mod to be a good game.

Honestly from everything that's been shown to us so far, a comprehensive "let's touch every last thing" overhaul won't be necessary. And you know what? That's a GOOD thing because then we won't all have to constantly worry about stepping in something the overhauls placed or deal with the constant annoying question of "is this compatible with " questions. We'll be able to just mod and be happy. Hopefully.

hopefully. And I also hope that Bethseda will increase challenge by increasing the # of enemies, rather than give enemies amazing hitpoint bloat. Yeah, hopefully overhauls won't be needed and any changes can be changed by GMST tweaks or something else similarly simple.

Hopefully Skyrim won't need an OOO, but I will always welcome a MMM, or even better, a WAC. Why haven't I seen anyone mention this most excellent mod?

Last I heard WAC was only a beta while MMM has been around for ages and is pretty stable and bug free so it's more well known.

From what I have seen so far, Skyrim would not need an Overhaul to correct its problem, like what Oblivion needed, but some might want to change aspects of its game-play and game-content to add some flavor, for different tastes, and no doubt we will have a lot of new content, like new armors, weapons (pole-arms? crossbows?), land mass, quests and so on...

And I look forward to my experiences with its leveling system. :) Birth Signs? Backgrounds? Different starting place, gear and money depending on those choices?

And we might even get lucky and have something like what I have suggested in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1181482-loose-your-touch-or-gain-it.
