OOO is it good?

Post » Sat Sep 11, 2010 6:06 am

I didn't realise OOO changes player houses.

Do you know what changes were made? Or are you talking about the prices?
I'm only talking about prices and markers to the houses - and by doing this also changing the "Buy house" dialog result scripts for all houses. This is examples of things that are better handled by other mods, and just makes OOO less compatible for little gain (IMHO).

This seems like a good attempt at trolling. If you're serious, you should drop the laughable exaggerations and the pure lies.

Facts:
1. Whether OOO is overrated is subjective, but you're entitled to your opinion.
2. OOO has no dirty edits - unless you completely redefine the definition of dirty edits.
3. OOO requires no patches to work, but has one upgrade package (1.34b)
4. OOO does indeed alter many parts of the game, though it has options for disabling some of the changes.

So I guess what you really try to say is that you don't like that OOO affects so many parts of the game, so why didn't you say this instead of the stupid trolling above? For the record, I fully agree that OOO affects parts of the game that it should stay away from, but I still wouldn't play without it.

Actually, stupid trolling aside (not you, but tnu of course), if I could decide, several of OOO's features should be dropped, or added as separate esp files instead. Things like adding map markers to and changing of player houses, or adding lock bashing are better handled by other, partly conflicting mods. Those problems fades in comparision to everything good OOO achieves though.

That's what the LITE version is for, if you are unwilling to make the trade for the rest of the awesomeness. (Plus, I am one of those who his happy with all of the incorporated features. :D)

After installing OOO 1.33, you only need to apply the 1.34 beta. That's all. :)

Also, there are no problems using any Unofficial patches with OOO.

Edit : Oops. A bit late.

Yes. That is the whole point of having it as an OMOD. I do not understand how you missed that. I am not joking at all. I mean, you did not try double-clicking on an OMOD in the OBMM window or clicking on the "activate" button after selecting an OMOD?

Edit: I guess I can add a line somewhere that says, "In order to activate an OMOD, select it, and click 'activate'."

yeah but i thought you had to do add archive and all that stuff, for example with OOO people have said that you can customise what plug ins you want but if you have omod you can't do this?

nvm i discovered it runs a install wizard

If you do not know what it is, you do not use one...generally. I'll edit this post with the rest of the answer to your question.

Edit: First of all, you are being way to hesitant in this process, and I think I have already mentioned how much you are dragging out this process...Secondly, the answer to your question: Body replacers, custom body mods,...replace the vanilla body. (I kind of started off this explanation in an awkward manner. Oh, well...) At the average users level, there is not much else to say. That is what they are. Examples are Robert's male and female Bodies, Exnem (female) body, HG EyeCandy (female) body, BAB (female) body, TFF (female) bod...You know what, search "body mods" at UESP Wiki, or Google "Oblivion body replacers."

That looks fine. You are not using random little mods that BOSS does not recognize, so you can depend on BOSS to take care of your LO for you for now. It is okay if you make a few mistakes. We all do.

ok thanks for understanding, ive seen a lot of problems people have had with load orders and CTD's, i didn't want to take any chances but 1 more quest, (sorry) but i read on your guide i think it was that previous saves won't work with OOO once its installed, but is that just for bash? do i need to make a new game after its installed?

Where did you read that? Could you post a quote here? You can certainly use your saves with OOO after installation. You have to use Bash's update NPC levels function. If you are adding OOO to a new game, then there is no updating to be done.

Edit: If you are adding OOO to a save you have already put hundreds of hours into, I suggest starting a new game with, however. It adds content at every level, and only starting a new game will let you experience it all.

sorry can't remember exactly where i saw it but i DEF read it somewhere, i haven't got bash so will it work if the npc levels don't update?

Note. not bothered if doesn't i only have a test save game since i installed, i was going to make a new game after OOO anyway.

The game should not be physically broken, but not having OOO's NPCs level changes updated kind of...breaks OOO? I do not think that will cause crashes... Go with the new game after testing. Although I think you were too unsure of your own judgment at times, I appreciate your caution. If my posts had not been purged, you probably would have found a lot of the same wariness among my earlier posts. I'm always open for questions. :)

Well i just checked at Tomlongs site that has Real load orders Listed . These are Real people playing the Game. (yes im on there)

Of the 11 Listed load orders only ONE is not using OOO. I think the numbers speak for themselves... 10 - 1

Check Many peoples Load orders you will Start to see a trend....

EDIT: its also Pretty much the Reason we have FCOM cause OOO was so far reaching the PRO's had to help us out.
