OOO + MMM = FCOM?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:51 pm

OOO and MMM are heavily developed and run well on their own. According to this site ( http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/convergence.html ) FCOM is still in beta. I don't currently have plans to use Oblivion WarCry and Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items. Should I be installing OOO and MMM separaately or is FCOM more stable than that webpage says?

FCOM is very stable. ;) Don't think of the beta label.
But if you do not want to run FCOM then MMM + OOO work well together. :)

Okay. Guess I'll read up on Oblivion WarCry and Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items to see if they're worth switching to FCOM for. Thanks!

So worth it......Dont let the "Beta" fool ya thats about as stable as it gets...this is SO Getting attention at a constant Rate . I have been AN FCOM user since it was FRANOOOMMM. That being said My Build with 200 + mods Is stable . 2.5 - 4 hours is stable enough for me . But please do Read alot cause there are alot of interacting Files and yes you HAVE to use Wrye Bash. it is not even possible without.

Also try Starting your reading on the UFCOM thread. The latest Build for FCOM has an Unofficial Update to Bring FCOM inline with the Latest Changes to MMM .

Search this......UFCOM

Have Fun .

Edit: ok the search here still needs work...here ya go.....http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1085113-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom-relz/

The core of FCOM is OOO. Although, WarCry and MMM show through pretty well. MMM is not a true overhaul...kind of, so that is not surprising. I do not think reading up on WarCry will deter you, but much of Fran will not be "visible" unless you use the SI component. I have switched to just using MMM's SI, so not even that part of Fran is in my setup anymore. Not using SI, you mainly get Fran's new items and some nice new bosses.

MMM+OOO is smaller, in terms of plugins, new items and new enemy types. Most of the creature diversity is still there, and OOO is still there. FCOM being in beta status is of little significance. If you have not played OOO before, you may want to start out playing OOO or MMM+OOO. If you have, I do not think MMM+OOO is going to make a huge difference because MMM is not an overhaul in the way that FCOM, Fran, OOO or WarCry are. If you play the two combinations, the difference should be quite obvious, but I do not think reading up on the individual components can really let you understand the difference between the two. With the way MMM is growing, it will certainly make a difference compared to the pure OOO-modified Oblivion, and the creature diversity it adds is really amazing. Certainly, you will not be bored going either route.

I somewhat slightly disagree that MMM is not a true overhaul(/Im being biased >=P). Without MMM(or Frans for that matter), Oblivion is one freaking empty game.

I am not saying it does not add a tremendous amount of content to the game, but it is not a scaling overhaul. I love MMM, but it is not the same class of mod as OOO or FCOM. It is getting bigger, however. Maybe it will become a full blown overhaul. I am happy that since it is not one of those types of mods, MMM can be added to compliment just about any setup. The changes it makes at allow MMM to kind of "fit in" easily. Some of my favorite smaller creature-adding mods are now included in its resources, which makes MMM even more convenient and attractive. I do not know what there is to be biased about here.
