OOO optimizing

Hey all, I installed OOO and opted to use water weeds...however I need to help my fps a bit, so they have to go.

Can I simply uncheck the Water Weeds esp in OBMM to help performance, or do I need to delete it? Are there scripts that will still run in the background and slow the game down if I just uncheck it?

Thanks!

A really good place to ask these types of questions are in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082120-relz-oscuros-oblivion-overhaul-133/s.
The scripting won't work as long as the esp isn't in your list of active mods.

For mods to be loaded by the game they have to be activated (checked) or pseudo-activated (i.e., merged with Bash); otherwise, the game does not "see" a plugin's content. To delete it in OBMM, right-click on the plugin, choose "unlink," then right-click and choose "delete." Unchecking the plugin would work, but it is good practice not to leave unused plugins in the data folder.

OBMM is a bit harsh when trying to configure mods coming from the same omod package as with the water weeds mod from OOO.
best would be to use Wyre bash and uncheck it there in the mods list.

but afaik is that this mod wont improve your fps at all. main improvements are not using qtp3, and script intensive mods, which kill lots of cpu cycles.
but its really difficult to say its certain mods, that kill fps. some do only in "cooperation" with other mods.

If you really wanna be sure about what a certain script is doing, you have to use TES4Edit and look into the mod, its scripts.
but this is not always easy and requires some understanding of scripting at all.

best advice to do is to stick with the "bigger", well known mods, because these have been well used and
bugs have been eliminated on a 99,9% chance. (not 100% because the first bug is always bad code wont help itself )
...conclusion: you could try to find mod configurations well known for their good compatibility and playability.
