OOO Questions re Levels / Difficulty

Post » Mon Apr 25, 2011 1:49 am

I have a few questions on OOO, namely about level requirements / recommendations.

1) I've not tried any daedric quests yet but I wish to start some of them now. Has OOO changed the level requirements from vanilla and also, presumably the difficulty has been increased. Is there a list anywhere of level guidelines for the deadric quests when using OOO?

2) Are oblivion gates of a fixed difficulty or do they scale in some way with OOO ? Are the creatures that lurk outside the gate an indicator of the difficulty inside? So far I've done the Kvatch part of the MQ but struggled at the time. I'm higher level now but still tend to get whipped by a clanfear thats guarding a gate. I'd like to try closing some more but don't want to get my ass kicked :-)

3) I keep reading how hard Umbra is in OOO but nobody has clarified quite how hard. Any ideas on a sensible level to attempt this?

Thanks.

Yes - they're all set to L2. There's no list, but some of them are still pretty tough. And I don't think any of them have been changed except in regards to any creatures you have to kill (like the one where you have to get the unicorn horn).

Clannfears are overpowered, IMO. But yeah - you don't want to try Kvatch until L8-10, unless you're powergaming. The monsters do scale a bit (as much as anything else does).

I haven't done it myself, but I think the recommended level is around 20-25.

Thanks very much, and thanks also for the OOO thread, I'd not seen that one!

Yes, that seems just about right. You need high AR, preferably 85, as well as high Agility to take her on in melee. Also, you need to be able to damage her faster than her health regeneration - which basically makes her impossible for low level chars even if they could survive somehow. If you need even more Umbra challenge, there's always the awesome Mighty Umbra mod. :)
