to open or not to open, that is the question

Post » Thu Apr 28, 2011 3:26 pm

Just talking with dozens of players on my dedicated server, I dont think Id be to happy opening my copy of brink and talking to them in game. All I can tell is that most everyone is pissed about the lag, and thats really it. I make a good effort most time to stay positive when dealing with uncontrollable situations and try to make the best of it, but Im not sure I can handle the task at hand even for me.

I will probably end up opening it, just time, waiting...

So you don't have a magic 8-ball to guide you in your major life decisions? You have more pressing issues it would appear

hehe, I think im going to wait untill some more reviews come in on gamerankings since I kinda go by there overall score since they usually have a good number of review sites that give different opinions and cater to different crowds.

One of my XBL friends went and sold a bunch of games yesterday in order to purchase Brink earlier than he would have otherwise been able to do so, just because of how much fun the rest of us in chat seemed to be having.

oh don't be suprised :) I dont buy games that often so buying any games that have any negative aspects or anyone that has something bad to say about them or more so on gamerankings if there score is below 70% then I usually am hesitant to buy.

I wouldnt recommend anyone NOT buy the game yet exactly, but I probably wouldnt tell them to play it yet either. This is the kind of game where either the devs have to provide some solid support or they up and leave it(like Shadowrun, but I think the company went under) and the community has to support it. On the PC anyway, kinda hard to get user patches and mods on to consoles :P

So Id say wait and see what Splash Damage does for the first month or so. They pushed up the release day "to get it in players hands as soon as possible" so they kinda rushed it... need to see if theyre going to make up for it IMO.

Er by that I mean if you dont like it dont give up on it just yet, give it a few weeks.

aye, the game has a lot of problems but it has a lot of potential graphically lookin good, theres nothing patches couldn't fix going on right now. DLC for more maps, balance out a few things, and give PC option to use gamepad if they damn well want to and we got a potential FPS killer.
