Open ONLY if you know what happens to Shaun!

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:21 am

Ok, so... Fallout has always been my favourite game. I have been looking forward to Fallout 4 for years.

i installed the Fallout 4 wiki app and I just read a spoiler that ruined my day.

Some assh#Le told me that Shaun... Again, stop reading now if you don't know what happens to him, is the Syndicate's leader.

Now, before I kill myself, I would like to know how big a spoiler this is. Is it like the whole clue of the main story, or do you figure it out pretty early? I just did the Kellogg quest and didnt do anything else yet for the main story.

Second question, I want to get to the point where they reveal this spoiler as soon as possible. How do I do this the best? do I just play the main story?

I feel your pain, I had one of the endings spoiled for me two days after the game came out, luckily it wasn't the ending I got so I still got to experience the game.

To answer your question its about midway through the main questline, to me it was more of an "oh [censored]" kind of moment but there is still quite alot to do after its discovered.

And yes you're probably about 3-4 quests away from it I believe.

I've beaten the game and I'm still not convinced that he is Shawn, when you go into the mersinary's mind while he is killing your wife if you click on yourself he says "maby this guy killing me was all part the old man's plan the whole time, at least I died knowing he is going to take them down." I think he is referring to the one who says he is Shawn while your real son is somewhere else so the old man can gain your trust.

Damn, so still a pretty big thing it seems.

Is there any faction I can pick that makes this spoiler lessen important? Probably not?

Also, can I just do these main quests now and then continue at the Brotherhood of Steel, or Will my progress in the main story make it impossible to do everything I could have done with the Brotherhood?

Yeah, there's not really much in the way of debate there.

It kind of renders the entire quest pointless as the Survivor can't even get revenge since all of the people who ordered his son's kidnapping died of old age.

So there are still many things in the main story AFTER this is revealed? It is in the middle of the main story?

That must be a bug. He's generated from the characters you made. He had my females eyes, males nose and skin color. Etc. I don't think blue hair is even an option

Yep you can juggle quests from all 3 factions for a while after finding him too until you have to pick a side, so if anything its less than halfway through.

The revelation of Shaun's identity is basically halfway through the game.

After that, you can get to know the Institute and possibly ally with them.

I think I'll kill him just for the hair, blue is just not a natural color.

yeah its basically the BIG ONE in terms of spoilers.

no matter the end resolution you pick reguarding the institute and the railroad and the brotherhood or minutemen its basically the point at which you are now fully invested into the world. No longer trying to "Find your son" but trying to figure out what you are going to do in the wasteland.

Aah damnit...

But there is still much more of the main quest afterwards, right? Still other plot twists or great things to discover after this?

Yes, people have been complete dikes on the internet. I hope all those trolls just die. Anyways, it is a big freaking spoiler unfortunately. Its what the plot is based off of. Though I didn't see old Shaun as my son. The synth was more of a son to me because at least he is young and you can still raise him to be your own.

But it is still mid game, right? Still many more things after that, so that makes it still pretty acceptabele?

I totally agree though, I would beat that guy up do hard if I knew him in real life :S havent thought about anything else for the past few hours!

I think I Will play all night today until I reach this spoiler, then I will continue doing side quests and stuff.

If it's a real spoiler then it's a gigantic [censored] spoiler. Sorry for your loss. However, there is a lot of game left

Op, if I can give you some advise, if you want some plot twists. Stick with the institute. The overall endings of the brotherhood and railroad are quite predictable. But the quest line of the institute has a few twists and turns hidden in it.

Ok, thanks a lot. I was in doubt if I should go with the institute, but I probably will after reading this !

I am now at the quest where I travel into Kellogg's mind. Can anyone give me an indication of how far I am from the part where Shaun's identity is revealed ? I won't stop playing untill I reach this part, so it would be nice if I could tell my girlfriend how much longer she'll have to miss me :P

His hair is light gray, the lighting makes it look blue.

But the best way to see that it is a combination of your characters is to make at least one of the parents really distinctive. My father character had a rather unique look to him and Shaun looked almost identical and it was obvious it was him before he told me.

You are a couple of quests away.

Just a couple, though.

Also, the ending of the Kellog's mind quest should have you look at the other cryogenic pods when Kellog is doing his thing.

You may want to rethink the Institute after that.

Aah for god's sake, I have no idea what you are talking about, I am just rushing through it now. I must have missed it ...

all I can think about is this f*cking spoiler and how it makes me want to just play to that part as soon as possible. I am not even enjoying the current quests I am doing ... I can totally see how they build up the suspense for this spoiler ...

Jezus, this is really ruining the game for me :(

Just met Virgil, he gave me a new quest.

Any chance you could take a guess at how long it is until I meet Saun ? I know this is probably tough to say, but I have to get to work in 6 hours, so I'd like to know if I'll at least be able to sleep a little bit :)

All this sh*t is making me want to join the Institute, I am in a very bad mood lol. I was planning on joining BoS before the spoiler.
