'open philosophie' vs 'strict philosophie':
Cathedral versus Parlor style development in the context of tools optimized for open development

May I offer my sincerest apologies if this tramples on someone's bailiwick.

This post is intended to move discussion of the perceived ethics and legalities [of] content distribution control rights away from a thread which I think was intended to invite discussion of the kind of content distribution control options mod authors would like to have access to (as opposed to being a discussion of the kind of content distribution control options mod authors would like other mod others to have access to):

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1504479-mod-permissions-nexus-mod-authors/ which references the restricted thread which not everyone has access to over at:

e.g. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1907489-question-about-the-term-regarding-modify-my-file/page-36#entry17413824

So, here, we can name our justifications for these options and perhaps rationalize ourselves into a whole new game world without diluting the question of what options modders want for themselves over on the other thread.

I'll post back in a bit with a few thoughts once I link back from the other page....
