So far I haven't been able to play BRINK at all. I was really looking forward to this game, but I keep getting the same error :( .

I have seen other people with the same problem, but no solution yet. I have tried 11.5, the 11.5a hotfix, running as administrator, and all sorts of other stuff.
I would reeeaally appriciate some help, I really wan't to play this game. I heard that ATI whas going to release a 11.6 catalyst that would fix it ? But I don't know that much about it.

This is the info that the Catalyst control center gives me: Driver Packaging Version 8.56.1-081104a-071877E-ATI

Catalyst? Version 10.2
Provider AMD Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.859
2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0001
Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0630
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.8545
Catalyst? Control Center Version 2011.0419.2158.37550

Now I know it says it's version 10.2, but I think I downloaded 11.5 succesfully because I followed the exact steps on the AMD/ATI site.

Please, all help would be aprriciated. Thank you

Your graphic card doesn't support OpenGL 3.1 and that's final. If you want to play Brink you will have to buy a new graphic card.
