OpenGL NVIDIA GeForce 9400 issue

Post » Thu Aug 20, 2009 3:50 am

Ok, I'm sick and tired of this svcky week, and just when I was hoping to play Brink, a game I've been waiting for for awhile, I get this stupid error about my graphics card not being compatible with OpenGL.

It's an NVIDIA GeForce 9400 (Thats it, no "M", no "GS" no "GT" or whatever), and I THOUGHT since it's a 9 series and the minimum requirements are an 8 series, that I should be able to play. Apparently that's not the case.

Not really sure what the difference between NVIDIA GeForce 9400 and 9400 GT is, but I doubt it can be too different.

I'm trying to run Brink on Windows XP, but it's a partition to my Mac Snow Leopard; I've tried finding drivers for both sides and failed. NVIDIA's site gave me the drivers and said it was compatible with my graphics card, but I ran the program and it said it WASN'T compatible.

I'm really at a DEAD LOSS here, and I'd really accept any useful information.

Have you tried playing it in window mode? maby that works and after that find a solution for full screen.

I've tried it on a different computer and still nothing :/

And before someone comments, yes I'm running this off Steam. I'd have this topic on the Steam forums, if their forums allowed me to post. >.> I have to wait until a mod validates my account or something.

Ok, fixed it. I found a way to update my drivers; If anyone was running bootcamp like me, and couldn't update their NVIDIA drivers, theres this Laptopvideo2go which will fix the problem. Check their forums if you don't know how to use it.

Thanks people for your help.
