Operation anchorage

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 3:47 am

In the game of the year edition, operation anchorage, I am stuck and need some help . I am at the part where I made it through the "listening post" and I am trying to find the "pulse field" and destroy it. I can not figure out where I am supposed to go or what to do. I went through the whole building of the listening post, killed all the guys in there, killed the guys in the concrete "lookout" building that was outside the door once you got through the listening post all the way at the top. It is only me and the squad leader left. According to my quest map, I am where I am supposed to be to find the pulse field, but I am not finding anything. Can someone tell me what to do or where to go at this point? Please? Thank you!

Just drop down in front of the bunker into the gully and you should cut back to the Command camp where you get your loadouts from the quartermaster. then follow the quest arrows as normal.

It's me again....LOL
The quartermaster didn't give me anything. Didn't give me what you called (loadouts ???). I followed my arrow and it lead me right back where I started. Outside the top of the listening post. When I stand over by that "lookout" building(that is what I am calling it---- round cement with large openings to see out of and there is an ammo/health replenisher in there) and I line up my arrows it has me facing the listening post. I have tried firing a missle and used maching gun to try and bring down what looks like radio towers but nothing happened. Back down below by the chain fence/gate that goes into another area around there, I see what seems to be the "pulse field" but I have fired at the gate and nothing happens either. Soooooo, I am still stuck. Can you give me further instructions and maybe a little more specific so I can move on in this part of the game. I have been up, down and all around in this part and I get no where. Hope I am not being to much of a dummy or pain in the butt. Thanks again!

Sometimes this has happened to me as well on 360. I have cleared the listening post, and you should automatically be transported back to base just like in your previous missions. I reload a save from a little farther back in the listening post. You could try your autosave as well, but I wouldn't count on it. It's like something didn't click... sometimes I have to choose topics twice, for the game to register that I have spoken about those things.

Well, I tried going back in the game but that didn't work either. Anyone else have an answer or a solution? FYI...... I am on a desktop PC According to the map and the on screen directional arrow I am right on top of where I am supposed to be to get to or take out the pulse field. But I do not see anything to shoot at or blow up. If I stand outside the listening post building by the lookout building and I stand facing the post, the arrow points right at the listening post. If I go back inside of the listening post, and face the door to go back outside, the arrow points that way. So, I am standing right at the point where the quest arrow shows. I am really confused on what to do here. The building doesn't blow up, the lookout building doesn't blow up, the towers around the building do not blow up. You can't climb the rocks or climb up the towers to get anywhere or do anything either. Nothing anywhere inside or outside of the listening post lights up your cross hairs to show that you can shoot at it. I tried shooting and blowing up everything anyway. Nothing............

Umm...there's a switch in a bunker that looks out over the pulse field. I don't know if it only appears if the right dialog options are chosen.

Hi Folks!
I still need help with this part of the game. I went back and started over on the listening post quest. I found that I had missed killing a couple of the chinese guys, but I absolutely got them all this time. The game did send me back to the camp. I talked to the quartermaster and got a weapon from him without a requisition. Then I followed the on screen arrows and the map on the pip boy screen to start the quest again for the pulse field. It lead me right back to the top of the listening post outside where the round building is. I assume that is the bunker. It has open windows that look out over the whole area that I just came from to get up there. I do not see anything like a switch or anything to blow up or shoot at to disable the pulse field. The on screen arrows line up when I face the listening post from outside. When I go to the pip boy screen and look at where I am on the map, my arrow is right on top of the quest arrow. I have looked everywhere outside and have checked all the computer like things on the inside and checked all the desks etc., I have looked all around inside the bunker. My crosshairs do not lite up to show anything I should be shooting at or clicking on.I am really stumped here. Can you tell me exactly what I am supposed to do here to disable the pulse field? Thanks!

To get to the pulse field, you must head straight up the battlefield, into the trenches. Not to the left, where the depot is, and not to the right where the listening post is. It will be trench warfare for a while, don't forget to explore the various trench lines for goodies. After the trenches, you walk out into buildings with no windows, doors or roofs, where you do battle there as well. You know you're there, on the other side of the trench action when you start taking fire from a bunker that you cannot reach, but can kill the turrets inside. Then all of a sudden you have ppl with you, and there's a large field in front of you. You can watch some of your fellow T51bers die in the pulse field. Take down the first bunker, and then proceed to the second bunker where you will find a switch. Activate the switch, turning off the pulse field. SAVE YOUR GAME AT THIS POINT. Then help take down turrets at the main base, and stand back, as the T51bs use launchers to crack open the first door. Don't stand too close, I learned this the hard way lol. Then go inside and deal with the one guy who kills me maybe 75% of the time when we meet.

I'd recommend passing the speech check. You can keep trying to kill him after you fail, if you like, but I prefer just reloading right away. Because of his armor rating of 31 and the his incredibly large amount health, 1650-1800 HP, he is almost as durable as a super mutant behemoth.

If you do insist on fighting that guy, shoot the shocksword out of his hand and grab it before he can pick it up again. Should make things a bit easier.

This - your first shot or two should be with the Gauss Rifle aimed at his sword hand. Once you knock that away all he has is his fists, and you can stay ahead of him and blast away without taking too much damage. Just be careful not to hit any of the T-51B units fighting other Chinese soldiers with stray rounds while you're fighting him, or else they go hostile and attack you too.

Thanks again, and if I need anymore help with anything I will be back.
Have fun everyone!
