i heard rumors (dont quote me on this but i believe it was on fragworld somewhere) that operatives could play dead and had access to a kind of self destruct when they were down
and i believe they gleaned that information from handson gameplay soo

yes, Both of those have been mentioned by devs.

Self destructing might be a pain, considering bad games like MW2 using Martyrdom and stuff like that. Although 'playing dead' would be a cool way to sneak up on groups of opponents and taking them out.

Playdead is hilarious if you see someone try it in mid combat. You'll notice it anyway and get a free kill.

So your an irate Jamaican in a mask?

With a British accent.

Couldn't it just be an updated build on max settings for PC?

If this was the CryEngine.

You don't need the CryEngine to achieve screens like that -

Well, you need the CryEngine to achieve screenshost like that with actual ingame-material.
What I gather from that thread is, that it's a set up situation with the engine's post processing abilities maxed out.

It's like with a trailer having that nice little "Actual ingame footage"-line on the bottom, even though it's a drastically scripted scene.
