Operatives need some love.

They have the least objectives in missions (less then soldiers). No buffs, and the skills aren't as good as other classes. I understand they can help the team a lot, but no where near as engies. Engies can buff in attack and def, have better abilities and have the most objectives.

Give some love the operatives. Maybe buff abilities, or give us a one hit kill with the knife if disguised and from the back.

I'm useless as Engineer, but I don't say they aren't good.

I'm GREAT as an operative.

I played several games as a Medic (because my team was short on Medics), and did ok, then in the next match we had a few, and no Ops, so I switched (which I was happy with, because I'm Op/Medic dual-spec with a couple of Soldier abilities on the side) and I was rated best overall and best Operative. The second-highest XP was an enemy Operative who was only about 3 points behind me. We had some epic Op feuding going on. I ran Operative for another couple of matches, and never dropped below 5000 XP.

We do awesome stuff when we're doing our jobs right - if you're struggling, try another class - you might find they're better suited to how you play - Soldiers are also pretty beastly for lone-wolf "behind the lines" action, if you're good with them.

I play operative whenever we don't have any. It's REALLY handy for finding the enemy, marking them, etc. It's way easy to complete the objective if you know exactly where the baddies are

i`m in your base, dropping caltrops and hacking your turrets.
The remote control turrets are also pretty beastly.

The bold part is one area I think could use some tweaking - they're not TOO bad, but a slight increase in hack speed, or a decrease in the speed of the Engineer's reverse hacking, would be beneficial, imo.

Definitely agree, and I play engineer as my main... would love to play operative more often but there's really just not much for them to do that another class cant already do better.

My suggestions...

1. Remove the ability to disarm HE charges from engineers, and allow operatives to disarm HE charges instead.

2. Increase base hacking speed by 25-50%.

3. Allow operatives to firewall hacking objectives if on the defending team, reducing hacking speed to what it currently is.

4. Increase how quickly the comms hack and disguise abilities finish.

5. Give operatives a buffing ability. Soldiers have ammo restore and capacity increase covered, medics heal and improve regen/speed, engineers have damage and defense covered. Give operatives an ability that increases the ally's maximum supply count by 1, and restores 1 supply pip to the target when used. Perhaps remove the medic's transfer supplies ability and replace it with a healing grenade.
