12 minutes to cross all the map from northwest corner till southeast corner. I hope it is full of locations and quests at least... I had imagined it would be bigger but will be fine is the content is big and appropiate to that size.

A lot of disappointing stuff is coming out about this game, so i wouldn't be surprised.
yes, 12 minutes running. Im not going to leak any info nor make public the source, but i've just seen the video of the guy doing the speedrun from corner to corner.
You can run across Skyrim''s map in 12 minutes.
So this tells us what we knew, its basically the same size as Skyrim's map.
12 minutes?
With or without sprint?
Also, maybe the map isn't a perfect square, meaning that the path that player took could have been between two points that are already close together.
Yes but in Skyrim you had horses.
With sprint, and the trajectory is a straight lane from corner to corner. Sorry for my english.
And instead of mountains everywhere, the upper-right 1/3 of the map is ocean.
I was speaking of running, not using horses. I actually went in-game and did it to see how long it took.
All the way from Stendarr's beacon in the southeast, to Castle volkihar in the northwest in 12 minutes, with sprinting.
Though I did try to take into account that Fallout 4 doesn't have mountains, and Todd specifically stated its the same as skyrim, except without mountains blocking your path, so I no-clipped through those.
more like the right 1/3 of the map straight up and down.
There are perks for being able to stay more time under water, i deduce there will be places to explore under that ocean, so it doesn't worry to me.
So 12 minutes with sprinting vs skyrims 12 minutes without sprinting? Doesn't sound like an issue to me.....
I occasionally sprinted when running from one side to the other
Still that's a respectable size. Certainly the biggest Fallout map we've seen
It's not an issue. It's just i imagined it would be bigger even.
In adittion i have to say the map looks SO great. The speed run was at night and the colours contrast is so beautifull under a great illumination efects and the fog in some areas is perfect. By other side, i have seen just a few animals during the run, wanted to see some more fearing us in our night walks.
Yeah I saw some night shots from the leaks. Looked great. I'm really not surprised at the size. Todd specifically said it's about the same size as skyrim so we should have expected that +/- a little
I wouldn't be so sure.
Skyrim's map was slightly smaller then Fo3's. Where Skyrim was 14 square miles, Fo3 was 16. Its more or less about the same size as we got before.
Though it should feel larger since the city is one area instead of like 14 individual areas with tons of empty space between them and seperated by metros
Really? I was always under the impression that 3 was significantly smaller? TIL today lol
in a pure width X length, no, its bigger.
In total playable game space its probably smaller due to how much of D.C. was inaccessible.
Okay, so the person in the video is sprinting, so that's what? Double speed? 2.5x speed?
So, the actual time walking is about 30 - 45 minutes?
That sounds about right.
I can't. I smoke. I hear there used to be people who were messengers professionally who used to be able (and still exist in ares of tribes) run for distances that we would consider massive today.
The human body, for all it's flaws, actually has many wonderful capabilities if the spirit is willing to believe in itself.
