My opinion on Crytek

Post » Wed May 06, 2009 10:28 pm

I have never seen a game Company that listens to
its fans so clearly, not to mention instead of quantity
Crytek brings quality and spends along time making each
game, Crytek deserves an award they always listen to their
fans!

Yes, the Crytek maneagement is usually rather top notch, although sometimes they don't always fulfill their promises with patches.

I hope you enjoy your stay! :)

That is because Crytek cannot release new Crysis 2 information without the consent of Electronic Arts, however small that answer may be. :(

Thy issues still to be addressed:
1. Thy pc version of Crysis 2
2. The ps3 version of Crysis2
3. Any new beta's for all platforms
4. A demo for all platforms
5. Any new info relating to Crysis 2.

PS3 has the worst uncomfortable controller ever and has
only a hardly noticable graphical difference from the 360
although it does not really matter or concern me cause I
have a good pc that will play Crysis 2 on max.

apart from the squishy trigger buttons the ps3 controller is fine :) although admittedly there's not going to be a fat lot of differences between consoles and definitely not anything to pick out in grainy 720p footage. So i think that, combined with the fact that their existing fanbase is on the PC, PC footage will definitely be well recieved.

Then again, would the differences to pc make much difference in grainy 720p either? In the end most games can look good from a distance or in blur o' vision. The things that make a game fugly (like cod) or beautiful (like crysis) are when you see the game up close.

when it comes to consoles, it all boils down to people, if your buddy has a 360 and buys c2, then evewryone else with a 360 follows suit. saime w/ ps3, at least in my neighborhood. btw, i think crysis is gonna be very successful on consoles, since halo: reach and Black Ops dissapointed a lot of people, crysis might just be the alternative shooter we've been looking for

Yeah; Black Ops has really been a disappointment, and so was Medal of Honor, and Halo too I hear.
It sorta depends on what you're looking for in a game. I have all three and really enjoyed them. MoH, less, because it really is a battlefield ripoff.

On topic: Keep it up Crytek. Never cease to amaze.

I haven't seen anything so far on this list that has been Addressed.

Hey guys thanks for the thread, good to know what you're thinking :)

@ the topics not addressed, i hate to get 'technical' but we have addressed them, i think you just didn't like the answers because there's not much to say, but i'll cover it again;

1. Thy pc version of Crysis 2

What about it? Footage? This will be available closer to launch.

2. The ps3 version of Crysis2
Again is this footage?

3. Any new beta's for all platforms
No announcements have been made on any Crysis 2 beta, although we recently held a Multiplayer test on Xbox 360 which was quite successful.

4. A demo for all platforms
Again, no information released on this one and nothing to add at this point.

5. Any new info relating to Crysis 2.
C2TV Episode 4 is in the works which will give a little more insight, if you're after big announcements or multiplayer game mode info or things like that then you'll need to wait a little bit longer.

Of course it's worth mentioning, if/when something big does come up, we'll post it on gamesas.com so just keep checking the forum and news section and you wont miss out :)

What about the Q&A Video?
It has been months, Crysis Twitter said that it should come before christmas, I then asked when we could expect it but got no answer.

The Q&A video has had a lot of problems due to many reasons, I am continuing to attempt to get a final video available but i'm unsure if it's ever going to be possible.

Hey Tom, thanks for the reply! :)

About the first 2 questions; We're simply asking for some footage, images, or possibly even a hands-on experience (Although I doubt it will happen). Since the 360 version is getting all the fame, it's not really showing what the PS3 version or PC version are like.

Although I'm not fussed about the PC version (I know it's going to be awesome), I hope some media comes out in the coming months (Actual PC gameplay). I also know that the PS3 and 360 are going to be near identical, but I'd like a change a pace.

And thanks for heads up about C2TV, looking greatly forward to it!

Would you be able to tell us any of the problems?
It it technical or because of things that were said that arent meant to be released already, or something different?
I cant really imagine what problems can be such a hold for a video.

Yeah!
For me Crytek stands for the best quality on the gaming market.
If you have a look on the games Crytek made, every game was a milestone.

Far Cry 1 (best graphic of its time)
Crysis/Crysis Warhead (best graphic)

If you look at Crysis 1 now, there is still no comparable game.
Lets compare Call of Duty Black Ops to Crysis 1 graphic. You know what I mean ;)?

Sadly you appear to be confusing "good graphics" with "good gameplay". There are few comparable games in terms of graphics, but in gameplay terms Crysis is superbly mediocre.

No, in terms of gameplay choices Crysis is above a lot of games.

As of today, there are nearly 140 games with higher metascores than Crysis. Sadly I can't sort by user score on Metacritic, but critic reviews should do. Crysis is nothing special.
