Opinion of Wood Elves

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 11:08 am

My main character in Oblivion was a Wood elf ranger and he finished all the guilds quest, Shivering isles, Knights of the Nine, and most of the main quest. He was about level 40 when the xbox hd he was stored on died, that was a very sad day. This Wood elf was my best character every. He could stealthfully follow a guard around in the middle of a city with a light spell cast on himself, and not been seen, it was amazing!

You speak as though that's some kind of achievement. Oblivion wasn't that hard.

I was a wood elf in like half of my play-throughs on Oblivion I just don't think it's gonna happen on this one I have too much curiocity about the new combat system, and there is nothing I hate more than a Warrior Wood Elf!!! >:(

I'll put it this way:
After Morrowind and Oblivion, they were among Argonians and Altmer for my least favourite race.
After Skyrim I seriously contemplated playing one. They just missed out to Dunmer.

I'm fine with wood elves. The only thing I don't like about them is the whole cannibalism part.

Because they are the best thieves in the game I've actually only ever played wood elves and plan on not breaking tradition with Skyrim.

Ever since Fargoth from Morrowind, I don't care for them. They are annoying.

I played one in Oblivion, and my only issue was how short they were. I don't know if I'll play one in Skyrim or not, but they do look much improved visually.

They look fine in Skyrim, I don't know what everyone's problem is. Just as long as they grow a bit taller, maybe to Imperial height, and get a good voice actor, they'll be cool.

I might play one.

If I play a thief or ranger type I always choose a Wood Elf although in Oblivion the character was always female becuase of the way the males looked. Anyway they definately have their niche for me. As they say "We run fast and shoot straight".

You don't have an option for my opinion of wood elves. My opinion being based on what I experienced in Oblivion.

Basically, think of all the most offensive stuff you've ever heard in your life, add some other stuff that you haven't heard and you're half way to my opinion of wood elves.

They deff didnt look primal enough to be canniabls in oblivion, they all looked like if Willow and Richard Simons had some wierd lab experiment child. Maybe they got fixed in skyrim, probally seeing that the rest of the races got a massive face lift

They've been my favorite race since I first played Morrowind :D Oblivion definitely focused on the 'quirky' rather than the 'feral' aspects of them though :sadvaultboy: I'm really happy with the direction Skyrim seems to be going with though.

They are pretty much the only class that fills the archery niche, and for that they will forever be my favorite race.

I'll probably make one for another playthrough, provided the voices have improved.

And to Brutalis, the reason they have a cannibal background is because they live in trees in Valenwood, and they revere the trees and don't believe in taking from the plants unless they absolutely have to. They are supposed to be strictly carnivorous.
