The popular low opinion of wood elves is because Bethesda went out of their way to engender that feeling. They make every crazy or otherwise pathetic character a wood elf. Glarthir, Fargoth, Annoying Fan, etc... To which I say fribble, just fribble.

That is not to say that I do not like wood elves. They are one of my favorite races. My favorite ES character is a wood elf in fact.

Faelian was a Bosmer too right?

Are bosmers that are born in Cyrodil or Skyrim going to be cannibils/only carnivorous?

I don't really have a strong opinion for or against Bosmer-although I typically play a Khajiit as one of my main characters, so there is some animosity. But I love all the bat[censored] crazy Bosmer NPC's that BGS puts in their games.

Bosmer got a bad reputation in Morrowind because of their squeaky voices and because there were a couple of annoying characters (one named Fargoth at the beginning of the game, the other was in Tribunal) that were the subjects of frequent jokes on the forums back in 2002-3.

The adoring fan in Oblivion was a joke made by Bethesda and an obvious reference to those two mentioned NPCs.

Aside from that, their initial stat boosts make them the idea race for stealthy characters and rangers.

Honestly their perfect for my role as playing a thief/ ranger but……

I can't get over the face they're cannibals.

You know what I did to that cannibal town in FO3?

I murdered them and threw them into a radioactive lake.

I answered "They're pathetic halflings" Because my main Nord hates them due to his backstory:

My Nord's Story: An angry, loud, outgoing brute. He spends every evening alone in taverns, waiting for some Bosmer to walk in so he can bash their heads together. He hates them because one shot his eye out with an arrow. After that he walks in the woods until he comes across a pack of wolves, brutally dispatching them with an axe, before falling asleep under the moon. He has repeated this every night for five years since his son died, he is so bored with it he recklessly puts himself in danger so he may feel the sweet release of death....

But in terms of me personally I think they're cool :)

They looked like a joke in Oblivion and Morrowind. Literally, like a sick joke on the part of the developers, as if their only purpose was to annoy those around them. And males shorter than females? How much more pathetic could they get. But the new wood elves look badddddaaasssss.

Slightly indifferent to them personally. However one did teach my Nord basic survival skills in the wild and a little archery.

Bang on. I hated Bosmer in Oblivion, because they looked weak and pathetic. I love them in Skyrim, because they look incredibly badass. There's still no poll option for me though - I'll definitely be a Bosmer in a later play through.

I'll be a Bosmer in a later playthrough as well. Depends on how much time I have.

Well I always thought their lore was interesting but didn't translate into the games. Now they look as wild and interesting as I think they should. I was sure I was going to play a nord but I almost changed my mind with their redesign.

Wood elf's never interested me in Oblivion, but they certainly do in Skyrim, that will be my first character for definite.

Archery and sneak/thief skills have arguably been improved more than any other - I'd say they'll make some absolutely brilliant characters in Skyrim

Still not going to play as one though

Well, the eater of my enemies is my friend, so if I meet any bosmer like that then I won't judge. Besides, out of all the Mer, I find that the bosmer are my favorite do to their awesome lore.

Also, I think the poll needs to me more balanced with positive votes.^_^
