Option to change language in Skyrim

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 2:15 pm

Hi all.

First of all congratulations to the creators of this great game. Hooked from the beginning.

I searched the forum for a while looking for any post that deals with the issue I want to comment.

This Christmas my girlfriend gave me Skyrim, purchased from a British website.

I want to know if Bethesda will do some official patch for xbox360 or other platforms for changing the language of Skyrim, even if only in the subtitles.

I understand the language and I can play without problems in English. I would like to have subtitles in Spanish for comfort and not having to translate the entire time the game.

It is not the same listening and enjoying playing and landscape effects than having to stare at the subtitles when some phrase or word is not understood.

My English isn′t perfect.

Translating the subtitles and the interface would be helpful for many users.

Are there any information about that mod or patch?

Thanks for read!

for what I've read/heard, the language you buy is the language you get, there are games already in spanish if you want to play it in spanish, the PAL versions bought in Spain I think are in spanish, I bought my game in Cali and traveled to Mexico to visit some family this xmas, a cousin bought it there, and I noticed the game manual was completly in spanish, even the pictures shown in the manual were in spanish showing NPC's and talk options and subtitles in spanish, for my suprise, when he played it the game was in english, but I think the xbox was set in english lang, so maybe the xbox config has something to do with it, and for what I know there are no plans on making patches to change the language, but if you bought a british version it will help you improve your english while you have fun ;)

Of course!

I'm enjoying the game as a child his first candy. I'm also improving my English listening and vocabulary level.

About the translation was especially curiousity and a try to see if it exists. It is understandable that the game has the language of the country where it is sold. I assumed there would be no option to translations.

Just have to wait for a patch in the future, or learn more english if never comes. :whistling:
