No Option for Riekling Follower? : V

I completed the Thirsk task but there is no dialogue for any of the Rieklings to follow me. They do show up in packs to assist in fights sometimes however. Is there another requirement before the dialogue option appears?

Same here. None of them have dialogue options for me either. I'm guessing its a glitch.

The Dwarven Spider won't follow me either; but I'm guessing I might have to complete the entire dungeon first... which might be difficult as the vendor at the Silt Strider is nowhere to be found on my game. Anyhow I've tried a number of times to talk to the Rieklings... even the ones that come and assist during battles.

well i got a follower i found the boar got the red grass and killed the nords then their leader said i was to strong and wanted to take his place i said no and he attacked me after that they all called me leader it all happened like that for me

The only rieklings available as followers are the ones arround the Mead Hall and inside it. Others cannot be used in this way.

Yeah that's how the quest plays out; someone mentioned I might have a gitch on the game where it thinks I already have a pet follower... well at least for the Dwarven Spider. Dunno about the Rieklings.

so even if you go back to thirsk hall, it won't let you talk to the ones out front?

The Rieklings from Thirsk Mead Hall don't seem to have any dialogue options. They only have little one-liners like guards do. I notice that 2 of them show up in battle situations and help to slay enemies, then seem to disappear, only to pop up at Verena's next battle. She of course appreciates the help and tries to talk to them, but they only answer in their strange language, "berflik?" and such.

I've been able to task the ones that show up like that to follow me. But you only get the dialogue if you don't already have a follower (in my experience).

Well I sorted out the pet follower glitch (by using the Meeko fix) and the Spider now follows. But still can't get any dialogue from the Rieklings. I thought they were in the pet slot too so it doesn't matter if I have a regular follower?

I had this problem because I had a follower with me, so i dismissed the follow told a riekling to follow me then i ask my other follower to join me, because the riekling counts as pets. I love them so much <3

Oh so they might open dialogue if I dismis my follower? Hmmm... hope it works. Its a bit odd though as they do occupy the pet slot. o_o

hmmm...worth a try. I will dismiss my follower and see if that works. Right now there's no dialogue at all, just the Titicaca or whatever they say. I also have Bran as a pet at my house, I wonder if that is part of the issue.

Having a pet at your house shouldn't be an issue as long as its been adopted and isn't classed as a follower still... I think. Anyhow tell us if you manage to get one to follow you.

On two separate characters, I've found I had to fire my human companion, get the Riekling to follow me, then hire the human companion back.

I'm trying that, as they are large in numbers unlike the steadfast mechanisms, which only have 1 life and don't respawn (to my knowledge)

I've been told the Spider and Sphere do respawn... I hope they do as the Dwarven Spider is adorable.

Ah now I want to know if they do respawn... I don't want my Spider to get hurt!
