Okay so if your an Orc fan and not afraid of spoilers pop open the link below. I have created a topic like this before but more people wanted to discuss it and ive been pmed multiple times.

Spoiler
According to the book The Lord of Souls in the space between the events of the Oblivion and Lord of Souls the Orc city of Orsinium was sacked by Redguards and Bretons. The remaining orc refugees fled to skyrim. In light of this news will you be racist against Redguards and Bretons or will you try to finish off the big green folk discuss

well firstly, I think I heard it in one of the 'hands-on' reviews, but the player did indeed notice that the most common races they came across were Nord and Orc. So we will probably see a large number of the big mean green machines.
Also, I'm very interested to see how much all the races will be loathing each other.

Orcs vs. Redguards/Bretons
Dunmer vs. Argonian/Khajiits
Nords vs. Altmer/Bosmer/Dunmer

I think we can guess
Spoiler
the timing of the sack of Orsinium to be between 4E 15-30 judging by how old Mazgar probably was and the timeframe of the books.

My Orsimer doesn't really care about the other orcs. She is from the wild, not from Orsinium. I guess I should say that she doesn't really care about the politics of the Orsinium Orcs. She'll help them, though, no doubt.

In old Aldmeris (elf language) it literally means "city of the pariah folk" or "orc city." The Orsimer are pragmatic rather than sentimental and don't tend to give much thought to names.

As for who came up with it, who knows. Maybe Ken Rolston? Probably someone no longer with Bethesda, at any rate.

Also, OP, this is old news.

I dunno, but the city of Orsinium dates all the way back to TES II: Daggerfall ...

On a side note, are Orcs "Orcs," or can people call them Mer? I'm under the impression that they're as barely related to Mer now as a tiger is to a dog and other mammals. Malacath and all his goings-on and such.

I have no plans to attack Orcs or get back at other races for them doing so.

Basically I don't really care what happened to who..

Vvanderfall according to the lore and book is partially destroyed its still an island it either is very flooded, has a massive crater, etc but in around 20-100 years the land will be flourishing (basic geography)
