I recently started playing Daggerfall, and I have run into a bit of a problem.

While shopping earlier, a couple of orcs spawned and attacked me. After dispatching the troublesome orcs, more arrived to help their fallen friends. I managed to kill them all and get a good deal of cash, but they keep spawning and attacking me while I'm running around in Daggerfall (the city).

Does anyone know why this happens? I can take them with hit&run, but at level 2 they are a bit tough to handle.

Most likely connected to a quest you're on.

Nope, only visited a few villages outside Daggerfall, so I don't think so. Sometimes when I kill them they utter something, but I'm not sure if they're telling me to find a person or go somewhere. Can't remember what it is they say at the moment.

As far as I know, none of my three quests have anything to do with orcs, and I doubt it is connected to the main quest, didn't even get Morgiah's letter yet.

It's annoying as hell, though. They respawn like every 10 seconds no matter if I'm inside a building or outside.

You may or may not have been told about one or more of those objects you were told to deliver in or more of your quests that there are orcs after them. Finish the quest(s) in whatever way you see fit, and see if the problem persists

(those orcs can be decent sources of quick income, though )

Hm, yes that might be it. I will have to deliver the sapphire as fast as possible, then. Thanks for the suggestion.

Okay, now I feel stupid. It was a quest where I had to deliver an item before the orcs killed me. It even said so in the journal! I swear, I looked three times and didn't see it before now. :violin:

If they give you a name, you should be able to track that person down and make a deal with him. That will blow your quest, but gain you good rep with the Orcs as a faction.

It's pretty nice how you can complete quests in different ways.
