I doth concureth most wholeheartedly...eth.

But on a less ridiculous note I think that Oblivion suffered from voice actors who were too famous (pronounced expensive). I think a good number of less-than-famous voice actors and a couple of "hey it's that guy" appearances would do the game a lot of good.

Edit because I cannot spell.

A good point, however as I have heard from the developers of Bioware for Mass Effect (VO heavy, of course)--there is this thing called the "Voice Actor's Guild" or some crap union that lays down all the rules----saying that you cannot just hire anyone to do large amounts of voicework, you need to be in the guild and have approval and be paid a certain amount...blah...blah...blah... No independent contracts allowed, I think. So it probably takes a lot of jumping through hoops just to do what you are suggesting. I agree, it would improve the game though.

100% agree. All beast races looked funny. The Argonians looked the best of the 3.

But Orcs aren't beasts...

Orcs should be less green and not have such FAT FACES. Jesus, make them look cool, not ugly. I know theyre not supposed to be "evil" like in cliche fantasy, but they dont have to be so ugly.

I think they should be kind of ugly. they shouldn't look stupid, but ugly is Orcy. They tend to get the short end of the stick.

This is stolen from the MERP mod, but the Orc facial proportions for these uruk-hai look FAR SUPERIOR to the original orc face proportions. http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/13/12445/thumb_620x2000/ScreenHunter_02_Nov._17_18.53.jpg

Make that green and add in some tusks, maybe a slight nose job and it will be perfect. I hope Beth goes for a dark, gritty theme this time. they tend to change art styles between games, so there is hope.

Well so much for that idea...

The biggest issue I had with Orcs was their voice. This is the great flaw that was the limited number of voice acting in the game. Nords and Orcs were the same. Imperials and Bretons were the same. All elves were the same. And Argonians and Khajiit were the same. I don't mind their appearance (though improvement is most definitely welcome for all races visually and otherwise) as much as I mind that. Voices need serious, SERIOUS work for Skyrim.

Actually the Imperials and Bretons had different voices (The males at least, the females sounded the same to me).

But I agree, the voices need work. Fallout 3 did it well, but there was a severe lack in quests.

Compared to http://features.cgsociety.org/newgallerycrits/g38/322338/322338_1282146317_large.jpg yes they are cuddly! ;)

But seriously, I like to see some Orcs like the following, and just like different people we see in R/L, we can see different Orcs as well: http://d2d04grx5ahzvh.cloudfront.net/000_WebRoundups/26_Monsters/18.jpg http://www.ambientart.de/3d/gallery/characters/Dark%20Wizard.jpg http://www.3dtotal.com/admin2/front_page/gallery/big/2472.jpg

Picture 3 is how I would like Orcs is Skyrim I just want them to generally be more .. Brutal basically. Picture 4 however is just evil and insane :P

Aside from their appearance (which most definitely does need a redesign) I wish their collective personality and attitude were a bit more like the Orcs in Warcraft; intelligent and civilized yet still savage and very imposing.

We can have different bodies for different members of a race, or in different tribes, like this:

Na, the only one that looks right is 3 IMO.

Edit: And even then, it looks a little too much like Bull from Night Court.

Really? Well if they did, they didn't do a good job making them sound completely different. I swore they sounded alike. Especially the females.

Point still stands: voices need a serious overhaul.

The first two, look like Orcs in lord of the ring series.

Different Orcs have been made for different media, and we are used to the models represented to us by TES and WOW.

Exactly. There should still be the generic hulking warriors and mad barbarians, but the Orcs in cities could be a little more reserved, but still capable of rending people in twain and whatnot.

Good one  .

Orcs are green in ES Lore. Those others looked lame IMO.

There should be barbaric orcs but yes I agree some in the cities should reflect more of the civilization that surrounds them but they should also maintain their viciousness. :banghead:

I just hope they don't have all the orcs in the world and all the nords in the world with the same voice actor. Anyone else notice that? They have the same voice.

1 is too much of a monster
2 & 3 could almost work if they were green with tusks. Gotta have tusks.
Everything in 4 is monsterific besides the Orthanc Orc, which looks more like an Uruk.
5 doesn't show me a picture, unless I'm missing it on the page.
6 is...um...interesting? Lets go with interesting. Quite interesting indeed...

I think it would be fine if they could stick with their official art design (in Oblivion, everyone looked way off).
However, I wish female Orcs looked more ... feminin. Don't get me wrong, they shouldn't look like http://elsinne.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/orc-female.jpg, but you can look savage and pretty at the same time.

Sorry, this must be one of those pages that their picture expires outside their scope.

I have to show its whole http://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-07/l2-orc-female.html.

I would have been happier without the fixed link  . That is not bad for Orc females though. I could live with that.
