I have always been under the Impression that the ordinators that served Vivec and everywhere outside of mournhold were those that failed to become hands.
"Perhaps you've seen Ordinators on Vvardenfell. Fierce warriors, all. They were the men judged unfit to serve in our Lady's city. The High Ordinators are the strongest warriors in all of Morrowind. They protect the Temple and the city against all threats. Do not cross them."

Seems that to be an ordinator you must do average on a test, instead of excel.

@Judassem: While having an ordinator-to-be spend time inside the ghostgate, it would be illogical. If, as you could expect, the player got corpus they would become one more enemy of the ordinators. defending the ghostgate just within a short distance of the actual door out could be realistic, as could having the new recruit purge a daedric fortress, locate and kill a rouge necromancer, duel an ordinator(similar to the duel you have with the kings guard during tribunal), or kill a Neverine heritic.
I also support the idea of playing detective at least once, perhaps you could hunt down and arrest frizkay brutya, a prisoner in the ministry of truth in the vinella game. You could be the guy that puts him there.

ok for the training i think that you should have the player go through a series of drills for certain skills, for instance have a combat mtraing area were the player has to survive as many rounds as he can in a leveled arena type place and for each round he survives he gets a reward for example a sword or a valuble potion. and i think you should have mental tests on the temple doctrines and such, for exaple have a time where the player reads in the library and studys on the temple policies and all that stuff and then has to take a quiz on it through dialogue with a master scholar or something like that. and for the final tests i think that for faith you should do something similar to vivecs puzzle canol were you have to drown yourself, but instead do something else, mabey burn yourself alive in a furnace or something like in that story from the bible. for justice i think the player should have to solve a murder and execute justice on the perpetrator, but not actually kill them, kinda like the mission in star wars knights of the old republic when have to solve the murder to save sunry, but for those who havent played the game, you have to gather info on the murder, interview witnesses and investigate the bodies, and after the player gathers enough info on the murder he has to show his case to an ordinator in the same chamber as that test and if the ordinator thinks that justice has been served he lets the player pass on to the next chamber, in the final chamber the chamber of law the must complete a task while obeying certain laws or something like that, i couldnt think of a good one for law. and if they fail to complete any of the 3 tests they have to go back to the academy for 1 more level. also consider having a point in the story line, around level 20 and has reached almost to the top of the faction, where the player is given an opportunity to go back and train for 5 more levels at the academy to become a high ordinator and when he completes all of those quests and the ones on the mainland for normal ordinators, the player gets summoned by almalexia and she asks the player to become one of her hands, and mabey add about 5 quests for almalexia once you reach her hand status, hmm lets see what else should you include....umm mabey like, well i forgot his name, metioned about the getting the armor at certain levels, you could do that but while there still in the academy for instance level 1 vives blade(youll have to make that unless you use a different blade thats just enchanted ) level 2 indoril gauntlets, level 3 indoril boots, level 4 sotha sil's blade, level 5 indoril greeves(i think theres a mod that adds them, look it up on pes and ask for permission to use it) level 6 indoril pauldrons, level 7 indoril cuirass, level 8 (some spells that are really useful would probably fill in good here, such as a spell like vivecs law that does command humanoid 30 levels or something like that, and some skill increases that the player gets to pick) level 9 indoril helm, level 10 Almalexia's blade(ooh i just had an idea, for vivecs blade use iron, for sotha sils use steel, and for almalexia's use either glass or ebony probably ebony, and enchant to your desire) and i think that about sums it up for my ideas, but ill probably think of some more soon so if your interested in anything that i mentioned just PM me and i could probably go more indepth and actually give specifics down to every detail, and yes i have alot of time on my hands lol

I think the character, just before officially accepted as an Ordinator, should be questioned by Vivec himself. And Vivec should ask him/her questions (an interrrogation, in other words). The questions should rather be philosophical, to see whether the candidate is clever, cunning and strong-willed enough to be an Ordinator. Maybe He can even give a spoiler (He is a god, so he can at least "sense" the feature) about the character's feature a Nerevar Reborn, if he/she hasn't completed the main-quest yet.

i like that, good thinking judassem

anyway this is a mod I look forward to see someday, wish you luck with it.

can you even become an ordinator or in fact even do anything at all with the brotherhood of indoril? becuase i couldnt join them or really do anything except unlock there special door lol which led to some nice new items.

I have a suggestion for your armor and weapons as you progress in the order.

When you are officially accepted as more than just an apprentice among ordinators (as in, you fail the test to be a high ordinators), you receive a full, but very battered and downgraded, set of indoril armour. As you progress in rank your armor is improved and built up. eventually, when you achieve a high rank, vivec or almalexia blesses your armor, making it something similar to high ordinator armor and eventually as strong as the hands armor.

In most any militant faction your cloths reflect your rank, so your armor should reflect your standing in the orders of ordinators. A hand-me-down version of the armor would be what you start with, the armor having stats worse than most(yet you would be required to wear it in the presence of other ordinators). After successfully serving the order they repair and improve your armor. This is repeated until the tribunal itself blesses your armor in their service.

It may be advisable to script the blessed armor so that, should the player ever act against the tribunal, the armor becomes a burden and a curse. Perhaps making it unremovable and constantly draining the health and stats of the player until he or she atones for the crime sufficiently in the eyes of the tribunal.

Make them not have that stupid spell they cast where you agility is lowered. That one spell is the only reason they can kill your character.

I played it last year or so, I mentioned it mostly for intresting lore/dialoge they have in the brotherhood, have put it in my modlist now though to refresh my memory, but IIRC no, no membership.
are some quest and rumors related to them if you ask around, still IIRC.

btw it is honestly better suited for thives-, fighters-, and mages guild members that mod,and some new lore/dialoge.

I like the idea of the armor becoming a burden if the player ever turns on the Tribunal.

Maybe this mod could offer an alternative into the MQs of Morrowind and/or Tribunal as the ordinators are pretty close to both of them. I'm sure Vivec would have some use for a champion of the ordinators in his fight against Dagoth Ur, and I'm sure Almalexia might take notice of the Nerevarine being in her service as an ordinator.

Here's a small status update:

Since November, I shipped to Marine Corps recruit training. Three months later, I became a United States Marine. Then there was about a month of combat training, and now I'm in Southern California for school (a Network Specialist course, to be precise). I just bought a nice new laptop, and I'm getting ready to have my old PC shipped from Maryland, which has all of the Ordinators stuff on it. Depending on how long I'll be here, I'll be able to renew my efforts on the Ordinators mod. Until then, stand by.

Suggestions
Level 35
Completed the Murders quest
Reputation of at least 20

Ive always hated not being able to run around in Ordinator armor without getting swarmed by pissed off ordinators.. Think this is a great idea.
