ordrered physical disc to avoid download whole game. :(

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 2:25 pm

So i ordrered fallout 4 as physical disc so i wont have to download the whole game. where i'm from its expensive to use internet. 20gb for around 150$ a month.
few minutes into installing game. just to find out i have to download the rest 20gb. I FEEL RIPPED OFF. why are'nt there any warnings saying the physical disc will only have 5gb and you need to download rest the game.
I am super dissappointed. why do you even sell in physical disc where the whole game isnt there?????? i looked forward to play the game.

best regards

How did you think they got 25 GB worth of data on a medium that only holds 4.7 GB?

Well i thought there were like 3 or 4 disc when i ordrered the game. like witcher did. you buy full game not 20% of the game. they could have put a warning this only contains 20% of the game!!!

While it is a shame there's nothing to be done about it now. Ask your retailer for a refund, or download the game in pieces.

I know how you feel. I ordered the DVD too so I could get playing straight away on day 1, but when there was only one disc in the box I thought "uh-oh!" It took ten hours to download the rest of it. They could have just shipped the downloader on a 3.5" floppy. If people still had floppies.

When have you bought the copy?

You could just surf a little, and you would found out that the game needs at least 20GB to be downloaded over the net.

There where many sites pointing on that direction, and even before game release.

This one for example. http://www.techtimes...s-the-deal.htm?/a>

Even so, sorry for your troubles.

Why should anyone have to search for that information when it's standard practice for games to come on multiple discs in the DVD version and then just download the latest patch on first launch? That's like telling people that they should have done their research if they'd expected their new car to come with a steering wheel.

I recieved the disc for my birthday - started the install looking forward to being able to play this evening.

Now have to wait till tomorrow evening - Assuming I leave my PC on all day and night to download it. There's nothing on the box to indicate that the contents are not sufficient to allow for rapid install, nor any clarity that it would require a 19GB download before you could play.

I think this is pretty poor. It's a big negative to an otherwise fun day, and very much soured my opinion of the game before I even get to play it. A disc version should contain all the required files, on as many discs as is required, OR it should be made clear on the box that the game requires a substancial download to run. I should not need my wife (who is a non-gamer) to go online to research whether buying me a disc version of a game for a gift will require an addiitonal download that will take 17 hrs on my rural internet connection.

Unfortunately, it is no longer standard practice for PC games to be fully on disc.
