*Quest: PURITY OF REVENGE.

*Type: THE COMPANIONS QUESTS.

*Description: After completing the previous quest *BLOOD'S HONOR* approaching / talking to Vilkas does not open *PURITY OF REVENGE* quest line.
How To Replicate: I read UESP.NET about this topic and it says if you have the quest *HELM OF WINTERHOLD* in your inventory and not completed it before finishing *BLOOD'S HONOR* which includes NOT killing the enemy boss and ideally not killing anyone in the *HELM OF WINTERHOLD* quest then *PURITY OF REVENGE* will not be opened. I cannot personally confirm but looking to give it another go to see if this indeed does work and bypass the bug/glitch.

Stats: Level 19 xx amount of hours (Was concentrating on playing the game not clock watching how many hours I had played lol).

Other: Just searched the net plus viewed the official game guide and cannot find the quest *HELM OF WINTERHOLD*, the only reference is what the HELM actually is and that is a piece of Heavy Armour (17 Armour / 5 Weight / 125 Value / Type = Heavy Armour) :wacko:

I know I made an update in the OP but I'd just like to make a post about it, I've seen a few multiple reports on the same quests but with different problems so I've added multiple post numbers beside the same quest. So please don't get the idea that you should post a replicate report now, all it means is that you should first check if the quest you are having trouble with is in the list and if it is then check the current reports to see if the problem you are having has been mentioned :) thanks!

Quest: Dampened Spirits
Type Thieves Guild
Description- After completing the mission Loud and clear told to speak to Maven, the previous quest Loud and Clear completes but dampened spirits which i am led to believe is the next quest never starts, different from #18 as was never designated the quest for it to disappear

*Type:there are various masks in the game that have there own style questline a bit like daedric quests
*Description:If you pickpocket the Captain and read "Valmir's Orders" (or you will get these orders at the end of the quest), you will find out that Captain Valmir is an impostor. The orders read: "You will proceed to the ruins of Forelhost to retrieve the Mask from the Dragon Cult there. If you are discovered, impersonate an officer. It is unlikely that anyone from Skyrim will be clever enough to see through the disguise............. after you clear forelhost you get a quest to kill the imposter valmir..... i kill the imposter and nothing happens nothing triggers to say the quest is complete or to move on to the next quest ive tried saveing reloading same result every time
How To Replicate:pickpocket valmir outside the dungeoun and steal the note and key read the note nothing updates
Stats:lvl 46 101 hrs

Quest: A Return to Your Roots

Type: Sidequest

Description: Quest counter for Crimson Nirnroots goes into the negatives

How To Replicate: Get the quest, grab some crimson nirnroots, then store them in a chest in your house, withdraw them (do this a couple times, might try storing multiples at once (6+))

Stats: Don't remember, possibly around level 30-40 (I'm 68 now)

Other (It seems that the CN counter remembers to decrease when removed from your inventory, but forgets to increase when added to your inventory (I'm sitting at -8 Nirnroots out of 30)

I also encountered this glitch, for the same reason. I can confirm that going to Driftshade Refuge (I think) and grabbing the Helm of Winterhold without killing anyone and completing that objective (Misc Obj given in Winterhold) will allow you to pick up Purity of Revenge. I reloaded my game to before I turned in Bloods Honor though, so I cannot say if you've already turned that one in if it will unstick the guy from not handing out PoR.

Description: I found an unusual gem, I was not a member of the thives guild so vex wasnt an option. I spoke to maul who has no dialouge, he just tells me to piss off. So I have no one to talk to about starting the quest.

How to replicate: Talk to maul about the quest, dont be a member of the thives guild.

Another blood on the ice glitch.

Quest wont trigger,however I did NOT kill the optional npc in mourning never comes. I destroyed the DB. So destroying them may be the cause of the glitch for me.

*Description: After Astrid tells me to go to Nazir and do a few more contracts, Nazir gives me three dialog options, none of which are to accept any new contracts. I have gone back several times, saved and quite, still, nothing shows to continue on with my questions in the dark brotherhood.

*Type: Misc

*Description: This misc objective starts with the child Svari in Solitude. Go to Addvar's house to speak with Greta. She asks you to retrieve the Amulet of Talos from Roggvir's coffin, which means stealing it. I found the amulet before accepting the quest, right after Roggvir's execution. I am not given the objective to retrieve it from his coffin. When I tell Greta "I have it" the quest is not completed.

*How to replicate: Loot the Amulet from Roggvir's body right after he is executed. Before talking to Svari.

Quest: Hired Muscle
Type: Companions
Description: One of the side objectives for "Hired Muscle" is to go to Dorian in Solitude (the dock outside of Solitude to be exact) and brawl with him. However, it's not possible to access the brawling option since Dorian never leaves the ship that he is found in, and whenever you enter the ship at any time of the day it is considered trespassing. Since you can't talk to him without him telling you that "You're not supposed to be here.", the Companions questline is rendered absolutely incompleteable.

I virtually know nothing about the details of why this quest is broken, so I can't provide anymore information. The game is absolutely wonderful in almost every way, but a glitch that prevents me from finishing a major questline in the game keeps me from playing it more.

*Description: After entering Pelagius' wing, the game freezes hard at the 'warp point'.
How To Replicate: No idea - first play through & thus far I have no idea how not to get the glitch. I'll be seeing if it's still an issue later, but I don't early expect it to 'fix' itself.
Stats: 86+ hours play time, 33 quests completed - No idea what else to add.

*Description: No quest spawn, Can't buy house to start midway through.
How To Replicate: Finish Mourning Never Comes with the optional kill. The mother commits suicide, who is the person you get the key to the house from. Finish Civil War (Imperial).
Stats: Lvl 48
Other: Suggest that the parameters of the mission be changed slightly, opt in to quest from Jarl, steward, or guard near body. Steward will lend you a copy of the key if mother is dead.

And I feel like it would be a much better world if people like you would stop bloody ranting! ffs what did I say in the OP? No Ranting!

Go make a game the size and complexity of Skyrim then come back to me and say that

EDIT: While I'm at this I misewell say well done guys :) This is getting good! Hopefully the devs have noticed and are using it to help patch!

How To Replicate: If you played Forsworn Conspiracy, then Eltrys spawns as a searchable corpse, rendering the quest incompleteable.

Other: Heard this was a common bug, dead NPCs being used for Rescue Mission. This makes Rescue Mission incompletable because well, they're already dead and they spawn as corpses in the designated spot.

other: another friend had the same problem but i currier gave him a message to go see septimus. i have been stuck here for over 120 hours and no currier has came to me.

Description: Got this quest at the same time i picked up the Story quest Elder Knowledge. And when i got to Septimus he does not tell me where to get the elder scroll from or any other of the quest info.
Stats: Level 20 Dark Elf, 50 hours in.
Other: I did find Septimus before i started this quest as i was just roaming around skyrim and spoke to him. this might have something to do with it?

Quest: Waking Nightmare
Type: Side Quest
Description: Followed Erandur all the way into the laboratory where you acquire the Torpor. Killed all of the enemies and, before speaking again with Erandur, explored the laboratory, picking up all potions and alchemical ingredients (including Vaermina's Torpor). Quest objective list is still on "Follow Erandur into the Laboratory." Objective marker is directly over Erandur. From reading other posts, after you acquire the Torpor you are to speak with Erandur who instructs you to drink it. However, in my case, when I speak with Erandur, the only speech options are generic, unrelated topics. I cannot drink the Torpor either. I have tried waiting (>24 hrs.), attacking Erandur, running into Erandur to get him to move further into the lab. No success. Erandur does not move and at times says, something to the effect of, "The laboratory adjoins the library..." when I walk past. He is also in a fighting stance and does not mirror player movements (i.e. crouch, sheath weapon).
How to Replicate: Though I am not 100% sure on this, I think that the fact that I acquired Vaermina's Torpor without first speaking to Erandur is what caused the bug. From other posts I have read he is supposed to direct you to find it. I never recieved this direction. I would try to replicate it myself but my last hard save was 10 or so hours ago and I have done a lot since then.
Stats: Lvl 35 High Elf. 57 Hrs of play time
Other: This quest seems to be the topic of many discussions, but I have not seen another instance of the exact problem I am having with it. So I don't think I am re-posting anything here.

EDIT: Just tried to replicate it and failed. This time Erandur automatically spoke to me after clearing out the lab. So, I have no idea why it glitched before. Maybe he wasn't far enough into the lab when I cleared the place out the first time (I cleared it out faster the first time, I don't even know if Erandur engaged any enimies). Who knows.

*Quest: Under New Management
*Type: Thieves Guild
*Description: I've finished the main quest line for the Thieves Guild, but after continuing to restore the Thieves Guild to the various cities, I am unable to proceed in and receive the achieve due to the fact that I sold all my thieves guild armor to Tonila in the thieves guild when I got it. When I speak with her, it goes through the dialogue about upgrading the armor and tells me to come back with a piece of it, however during this time Tonila's "sales" window is inaccessible, preventing me from buying back the armor and finishing restoring the glory of the Thieves guild.
How To Replicate: Sell your thieves guild armor to Tonila and progress further in the thieves guild quest chain.
Stats: Level 53
Other: Either allowing a way to access her sales menu at all times would help me, but this seems to be a big problem. There should be another option as MANY people seem to have this problem, such as providing a vendor that will sell thieves guild armor to thieves guild members at a certain point, allowing for the upgrades and quest progression.

Quest: The Jagged Crown

Type: Civil War (Imperial Legion)

Description: After entering the dungeon containing the Jagged Crown, Korvanjund, the way further in is blocked by impassable rubble.

How To Replicate: Before starting The Jagged Crown clear out the bandits outside of Korvanjund and then enter Korvanjund and leave. After doing so start The Jagged Crown and attempt to complete the quest.

Stats: At the time of the quest, I was level 20 and had roughly 32 hours in.

Other: Prior to starting the quest I had come across Korvanjund and attempted to explore it (not aware it was a quest location) but the immediate area inside the dungeon was blocked by rubble. Now that the quest has started, this rubble is still there and even though NPCs are further inside the dungeon, there is no way for me to get past the rubble. Obviously the NPCs managed to get further in because the game placed them after a length of time. I believe the game places rubble in Korvanjund if you explore it prior to the quest in an attempt to stop you from messing with quest items, but the game does not seem to remove the rubble once you start the quest.

*Type: Bards College

*Description: Ruby Claw rings will not activate

How To Replicate: Not sure what factors caused this to occur

Stats: Level 41 Kajit with Spectral Assassin and Riften companion

Other: Played through the level, clearing all MOBs until reaching the ghost bard. Back-tracked to the sealed door which the bard opens. Proceeded to the Ruby claw-locked door. Able to activate the claw lock but cannot activate any of the 3 rings in order to dial in the correct code. Reverted to a previous save 5 minutes prior to encountering the ghostly bard and still encountered the same issue with the door rings not activating.

Update: I ended up reverting to a previous save and skipped this quest until Level 46. Other than the level difference I left my housecarl outside and did not conjure the Spectral Assassin for assistance. I then proceeded through the dungeon, killing only what I had to, until reaching the ghostly bard. This time I did not encounter the glitch with the rings not activating and I was able to complete the quest. I'm still unsure as to what specific difference in playthrough allowed me to avoid the glitch but it was nice to actually finish the quest this time. It was an added bonus when I walked outside only to see a dragon corpse fall on the stairs before me, burst into flames, and render its soul unto me. I guess my housecarl and Shadowmere kept themselves occupied while I was dungeon crawling :thumbsup:

*Quest: Animal Extermination (Kill the Ice Wolf)

*Type: Companion Radiant quest

*Description: Killed the ice wolf located by map marker at Half-Moon Mill but did not receive quest update. Quest cannot be completed.

How To Replicate: Previously completed Dark Brotherhood assasination quest "Kill Hern".

Stats: Unknown, early/mid 20s

Other: I believe this is related to killing Hern who might be a required trigger prior to or after killing the ice wolf.
