[WIPRELz] Organized Bandits in Skyrim (OBIS)

Post » Wed Jul 10, 2013 12:05 am

LATEST UPDATE:
Hi, I realized that the best place to show what my mod is about, is to ACTUALLY PUT IT ON THE GAME'S MAIN WEBSITE, DUH :P!
I actually feel a bit late on the scene but... try out my mod, it makes bandits a lot more varied and challenging, without changing up anything about the core game!
Here is the link to download it off of:

Intro [INT1]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Short Version:
BANDITS ARE LAME, I MAKE EM COOL, READ THE NEXT SECTION, DOWNLOAD MY MOD
Real Version:
Lets admit it, bandits svck at life. They are a little better than aggressive townspeople. Bandits are supposed to be a feared and constant threat throughout the lands of Skyrim. I aim to make that actual threat. When this mod reaches it's fullest potential I hope to add in many types of new bandits that belong to specific gangs that are immersive and lore friendly. When I have enough types of Bandits created I plan on making a radiant quest system that will install the actual gangs into Vanilla Skyrim's system for greater rewards and bounties. Then I would love to add in the bandit raids that the guards in Skyrim whine about. Also if any of you texture, 3d model, or super artsy people want to create some unique items (the symbols for each gang or unique clothing) PM me. I'll be updating this ALOT so come back often. I'm plan on making new stuff for as long as I can think of new stuff (or you can suggest to me).
You can read about each bandit type in the readme tab as the mod develops... You know just in case you keep dying and want some PRO TIPS! Ha, or fun little tidbits to be aware of
THE MAIN FILE BY ITSELF DOES NOT REQUIRE DAWNGUARD OR HEARTHFIRE OR DRAGONBORN OR ANYTHING
The OBIS-DB does require Dragonborn DLC
ISSUE: REALLY REALLY BIG DOWNLOAD FILE (300+ MB)
I wish I can do something about this, but to prevent the grey face bug I need to make a huge BSA to accommodate each and every bandit I create. I will try my best to minimize the size of the download, but the more content I create the bigger the file will become. To combat this for you crappy internet people I have made a file that removes the new bandits and only randomizes the vanilla ones.
Runs on Skyrim Version 1.9
NOTICE: Since this modifies from current lvl lists, it may take about 10 game days for the game to spawn these bandits in exterior cells... If you can't wait, either find a mod that decreases the cell reset time, go inside your house and wait for 10 days straight, or make a new game for immediate results
BANDIT PATROLS NEED THE MAIN FILE I WILL REMIND PEOPLE THAT AGAIN JUST IN CASE YOU FORGET
Content so far [CON2]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Main File includes:
-About 968 new, individual, hand-made bandits, all with different faces so that you might never see the same person twice!
-None of these bandits are not anywhere but in the lvl lists, so if there was supposed to be a bandit there, it will only be there, NO PERFORMANCE HIT.
-A total of 27 bandit types that will make every encounter diverse and tactical.
-Completely redesigned bandit spawn system, that will randomizes the types of bandits that will spawn in the camps, only effects random bandits not the ones that talk to each other!
-If you have a bashed patch for mods like high level enemies, or anything that effects bandits, it should work in perfect harmony as long as you put OBIS closest the bottom of your load order!
-190 NAMED BANDITS RANDOMLY PLACED IN THE LVL LIST TRY TO FIND THEM ALL
- Normal bandits are now classified and named by class type (warrior, mage, and archer), gives you a bit of a heads up now
-Certain gangs have shield specifically for them! will be found on bandits that are wanting to join up with these particular groups
OBIS- No New Bandits includes:
-DOES NOT REQUIRE BSA
-Randomizes the type of bandit
-Allows Bandit boss types in the lvl lists
-adds in bandit pets
-works with the bandit patrol plugin
Bandit Patrols includes:
-Total of 75 more bandits spawn points in Skyrim
-15 Bandit locations are being patrolled so far (Exact locations in Readme)
-3 Location being raided by bandits (Exact location in Readme)
-Adds my bandits into the ambient creatures level list, instead of spawn little bunnies and foxes you get angry bandits who want you DEAD!
WARNING: Bandits will raid towns and villages. Raids mean dead people ON BOTH SIDES of the conflict. I recommend you get an essential npc mod to protect npcs with quests. STRONGLY RECOMMEND.
Bandit Patrols - SUPER BANDIT HELL EDITION includes:
- Everything that the original does
- COMPLETELY REPLACES NON HOSTILE ANIMAL WITH BANDITS, ABOUT 800+ SPAWNS OR SO
EXTREME WARNING: I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN EVERY ANIMAL IS A BANDIT, THIS FOR YOU EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEME MASOCHISTS THAT THINKS DARK SOULS IS LIKE PLAYING HELLO KITTY ISLAND ADVENTURE I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT START A NEW GAME WITH THIS IF YOU PLAY ON THE HIGHER DIFFICULTIES
Please check readme to get full details of the current patrol/raid routes and use the map in the description to chart out your bandit slaying plans.

OBISDB
-REQUIRES DRAGONBORN DLC
-Has everything that the main file has.
-Allows Reavers into Skyrim, while allowing bandits into Solsteim!
-Increases bandit variety to 28 different types (Reavers).
-This file will get updated along with main file.
-YOU NEED BOTH THE MAIN FILE AND THE DB FILE AT THE SAME TIME
For exact info on my mod please read the Readme in the Readme tab.
Future Features [FUT3]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming up next update
- Next Bandit types - Broken (Gender related bandits) and Warspell (Armored Spellcasters) 10%
- Prepping Falkreath for bandit invasion 50%
- New tiers of vanilla bandits 5%
Bandits that are sixist and mages that wear armor? WHAT WILL I THINK OF NEXT!?!?!?!
Radiant Quest-
Probably won't start this up for awhile but I do want the casting call done with! If anyone is interested in wanting their sixy voice in the game please PM me.
What I now decided to do is to let you guys read the general backstory of each gang and you guys decided how gang leader sounds that way you can get into the role and I don't have to tell you anything! Please Read the readme tab to get the backstories.
New bandit ideas -
I am always in need of new bandit ideas, but it will be better to PM me these things for now. I would like my comments to be filled with either praises of my amazing work (or my amazingness either works), tech support, or balancing issues. I will be taking any ideas, if I say no to it, its not because I think it is stupid, it's either I have already got that, or I do not know how to implement it into the game yet.
I have listed the remaining plans in one of my articles in the articles tab so I can expand on my ideas
Installation [INS4]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To download it off of the Nexus, click on the "download to manager" thing up above to download if you don't have Nexus mod manager, GET IT!
Ha, no, if you really don't want NMM, click on "download manually" unzip it, place the esp and bsa into your Skyrim Data folder in your Steam Directory. Go to whatever that it is you use for checking off mods (For those of you who are completely new to modding you click on "Data files" in the Skyrim launcher), check off OBIS.esp then you're done! To download off of ModDB.... just go to download tab and... I don't know... Download it... Unzip it, place the esp and bsa into your Skyrim Data folder in your Steam Directory. If you have Dragonborn DLC, please download both the OBIS and OBIS-DB ... Make sure the order goes:

Make sure the Main file mod and the DB file mod version number matches, otherwise there may be missing data for something and then it will svck.
NOTICE: BANDIT PATROLS NEEDS AN OBIS.ESP OTHERWISE NO WORKEY AT ALL
Compatibility [COM5]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Short version:
THERE ARE NO INCOMPATIBILITIES
IF I DID NOT SAY IT WAS INCOMPATIBLE, THEN IT IS COMPATIBLE!
Actual version:
All this mod does so far is add onto the lvl lists that affects bandits. If you have anything that affects those lvl lists, I highly suggest a batched patch from Wyre Bash. If not, PLEASE put OBIS last, it completely remakes the way bandits are spawn so lvl list mod that loads after WILL change that. If you don't want to bash patch the mod put the mod you prefer better closer to the bottom of the load order (if it is not OBIS then you might as well remove it)
99% of all modding problems are caused by user errors, please check your load orders and make sure to check if this mod is the problem by removing it from your load order and doing the same actions. I will try my best to accommodate my mod to it's own problems. If there is a conflict I will check it out eventually, but since I have literally not changed anything besides the bandit lvl list, there should be no conflict from any other mod.
Known incompatiblities:
NONE CUZ I ALREADY EXPLAINED IT!
FAQ [FAQ6]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: When will **** or **** comes out?
A: When I get around to it. Modding is alot of work on a guy doing everything by himself, unless there are no more bandits to make OR if someone gives me some stuff to work with, I really rather make more bandits. If you REALLY REALLY WANT ME TO MAKE A FEATURE OUTSIDE OF BANDIT VARIANTS POINT ME TO SOMETHING I CAN WORK WITH. A gentle nudge will do.
Q: The *****s are too hard, please nerf them
A: Every bandit I make I have personally killed in Skyre with enemy scaling on, in Legendary when they are max level. I like the way they are. If you can give me a good enough reason (lore, unintentional feature, I can do better than that, ect) I'll change around some stats, otherwise they stay exactly the way they are. If they are too powerful for you, then maybe you need a new strategy. If you get one shotted death, then maybe you shouldn't get too close. Too many bandits swarming you? Get a follower. This game has alot of features, get creative.
Q: How do you put in ASIS...
A: OMG that question is answered in the comment section in a sticky.... just so many times
Q: There are headless bandits naked sometimes
A: Yea... not my fault, sometimes the game engine gets bogged down by the massive amounts of data that is Skyrim and forgets a couple of npc features. It happens, that is not my fault.
Q: There is this bug that destroyed my game from your mod, OMG what to do?
A: ..... You sure I did it? Guilty before proven? WTF? Please remove my mod and try the same function again. 99.9% of the time it's the user's fault, not mine. If it IS my fault, I'm sorry I will fix it immediately, I run a pretty bug free ship I don't want you uys gettin upset at me.
Q: I want to make you something what do you need?
A: I can use three things:
1. Bandit insignia for gang shields, preferably if you guys can actually put it on an esp or dds or whatever I have no idea what to do
2. Bandit Ideas for me to rewrite and create a gimmick with
3. Weapon/Armor ideas and creation so that each of my bandits can be unique in every way, I suggest making gear for bandit gangs that already have an insignia for reference so you don't fly blind.
Q: Mod isn't cleaned
A: Yea I know  at first I just forget to do it, now I feel like if I do clean my files I am gonna delete something I need by accident, I rather not do that so I am gonna not clean my mod... In fear that I delete something I dont wanna.
Q: When does the **** Shield comes out?
A: As soon as Leyr wants to, he designed all of them if you want more shields go beg him about it, he's a pretty cool guy, so I'm not gonna push it too hard for more
Q: How do you get the shields?
A: Normal bandits try to emulate the current gangs by carrying shields that has the gang's insignia on it. Current member of those gangs do not need to carry these since they already know that they are in and don't need to flaunt the fact. The BEST way to find bandit shields is to kill BANDITS (gasp), go find em, collect them, do whatever you want
Q:Is your mod safely removable? I'm scared that your bandits are too manly for me.
A: Good question person who decided he can't take my bandits cuz he is a wussy wuss. My mod is completely SCRIPT FREE, it is the epitome of safe mods.

Personal Thoughts [PER8]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This will be my first posted mod ever and I've been wanting to do this for awhile and I plan on making this mod as expansive as possible, even if this doesn't get really popular, but please endorse as I update, that way more people will be able enjoy my mod and by doing that I have more feedback to help me create better stuff.
Thanks [THA9]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to thank the love of my life for helping me start this idea, this was a gift to her and I hope that this grows as much as our love.
I want to thank Trollo (for unpacking the data for shield pics) and Leyr (for actually making the pics) for helping me make the shields, they are awesome!
Check out Trollo on the Steam Workshop and Leyr at the Nexus for top quality mods
I would like to thank all modders for all of the tutorials and showing me that it is very possible to do pretty much anything you wish.
I would like to thank Bethesda for creating tools to make Skyrim a literally endless game.
And I would like to thank you the reader for even thinking about my mod, please endorse, give me feedback, or share ideas with me. I hope you enjoy the mod as it develops.
