Original Fallout Patch?

Post » Wed Aug 03, 2011 1:43 am

Hey there, I know that I need a patch for the original Fallouts with regards to the color, I just don't know which patch I need or where I can find it. It didn't really bother me before, so I never bothered to ask about it, but now this is stopping me from being able to read dialogue choices, and whatever I'm picking is making people hostile to me, so this need to be fixed! Please help. Thanks! :D

Did you get it off Steam or did you buy the disc?

Bought it on disk. All three games on a single disk, so every game has this same problem.

Put the disc back in and choose the install option. Then each game should have more options to have stuff downloaded wih little + marks. Fallout 1 and 2 should each come with a high resolution pack that you can install.

Google Fallout Revived.
It'll give you the files that you have to replace the originals with.

Here is a work around tip for later:

Fallout has a "Help" screen that lists all of the hotkeys; you see it by pressing the 'F1' key. Fallout was designed for 90's hardware and can have a minor glitch that black out the screen on our modern 3d cards.

The tip is that when your screen goes ALL black, just press the 'F1' key twice; Once to bring up the help page, and then once again to close it. As a side effect... this refreshes the game screen in the process and removes all of the black tiles.
