Seriously...who the hell is gonna start a lawsuit over saves not working on a game!?! It's only been a week I'm sure that a patch will come along soon. Did you ever think that maybe it's a priority to actually patch the DLC its self? The patch will come, Bethesda isn't going to let their customers down like that. Just give them a reasonable chance to work on it. Threatening with lawsuits isn't going to accomplish anything. Instead of worrying about it so much, pick up Uncharted 2 or Borderlands or even go and walk your dog (meat)...see that lighten up!!!

30455 is listed under French Canada.

I'm guessing it's dual language. English and French, right?

I'm there as well. Spent about 40 hours on the new one so far. Doing a lot more planing this time for the leveling.

Just a bit annoyed at things that GOTY throws at you early on that the normal game didn't even include... but I've started another topic on that.

Yeah. I believe if you switch the PS3 language to French, the 30455 game will have French subtitles or audio. Something like that.

BTW how long did it take for them to fix the FO3 earlier, I mean how many months.

I really hope that they fix it sooner rather than later,

but one thing is for sure, I am not going to buy any of their game from now onwards,

They have lost me as a customer for sure

Probably will wait till end of november otherwise will return the game and that wud be it.

The first patch for PS3 (1.1) came out around December 18th. The game was released around October 28th. The patch was later released probably about a month later for 360 and PC. (PC also had a very early patch that addressed a crash to desktop.) As a side note, I believe the original French-Canadian version of Fallout 3 (BLUS-30234) remains unpatched to this day and is the only version of the game that is unpatched.

I'm pretty friendly with the local EBgames so I'm gonna root through all their GOTY to see if maybe there is more than just 30455s here. If not I still have 3 weeks to return it...there's the deadline Bethesda, 1 month from release to fix a serious issue or lose another customer.

Everyone already raves about Fallout 3. It's a good game. But when it bugs out on you, it's frustrating. I don't think anyone is disputing that it's a good game. But there's more that goes into a good game than just concept/graphics. It also needs to work. I'll believe Fallout 4 when I see the problems reported if there are any.

No one is going to buy a car if the engine fails on you every other time you take it out on the road.

So 5 days have passed now and not a peep from Gstaff ...

Usually, no news is good news....but in this case of Bethesda, no news = burned bridges with screwed over loyal customers...

Tired of waiting, I am doing a roundtrip to Platsburgh tomorrow.
Best Buy have the BLUS-30451 in stock.

Interresting things when I tried to return my copy :
- The store had a total of 7 used (normal and collector's) games for sale. They were all BLUS-30185 or BLUS-30185F (French!!)
- The clerks did not get any info from Bethesda and I informed them of the problem, guess what ... they were pissed!
- Sold my version 60$ to a guy there that said it's ok for him to loose it's old saves

Conclusions :
- WTF Bethesda, you could at least communicate on the problem to stop the propagation of frustration ...
- Did the BLUS-30234 ever existed ?
- GOOD LUCK GUYS, see ya !

That's cool you had no problem with your return. I myself don't want to return (or rather I would like to not return) the game I just want it to work as advertised. I hope it can be solved with a simple update and then off I go back into the Wastelands.

Yes, BLUS-30234 exists. They never got trophies or any other patch and posted numerous times months earlier on this board. Because they don't have the patch, they also cannot play the DLC, and there are a few topics concerning that here too.

wow...can't believe 30234 is unpatched, no trophies. This is completely unacceptable, no support for this version of their product.

It's no doubt that Bethesda fluked out with Fallout 3's successes and accolades...in reality it's an EPIC FAIL

EBgames is corporate run not franchise, so if his EBgames will take it back and mine will too, your EBgames is sure to as well. If they haven't heard of the issue (mine didn't) just explain the situation....usually EBgames staff are pretty reasonable...just remember your receipt.

When I purchased mine, they said it would not work with the old saved files. Therefore I doubt they will give me back my money or trade value of the same amount I paid for it. I will keep it and check here all the time to see if they patched it yet. It would have been nice to be told by Bethesda tha it can't be fixed but they are smart cause people are buying the game and waiting to see if it will work. They open it and EB Games/Futureshop are the loosers I guess. Makes you wonder.......
