Original fallout 3 saves

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 6:14 am

Hopefully in the next few days we'll get an official response. Until then all we can do is keep spreading the news on this issue and keep filling the Bethesda support inbox:(

I waited so long for these expansions and now I have to wait even more, sigh.

What is the latest on this issue? My original F3 is serial BLUS30185 and my F3 GTY is BLUS30451. Do I start a new game or what, 77 HRS invested...

have you put the goty edition in and checked if you could continue from a saved game? that's a different goty SKU than what people have been posting (that i've seen, anyway), unless that's a typo?

obviously don't start a new game if you don't get the continue prompt...

There's a poll in another forum. It would be interesting to see the results after many have voted. So far it only seems to affect Canada, but considering that one of the original versions of the game still remains unpatched in Canada, does that really surprise anyone? http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1047697

Anyway, also report this through their official support, as suggested earlier in this thread. I think this is the right link. http://support.gamesas.com/eng/email.asp?sid=081338091014069140036166&pid=400000032&pnm=Fallout+3&seid=400000082&pos=Playstation+3

I would like to know why gamesas are deleting comments on their fallout facebook group, and not approving comments on their blog relating to this issue.

I delete comments is when profanity/inappropriate language is used.

As far as approving comments, I approve them as soon as I see them.

At least the issue of failing to load saves is one they cannot ignore. We're more likely to get a patch for that than any other glitch.

No profanity or inappropriate comments were used. I posted a comment taken verbatim from one of my posts in this thread. And I'll take back my comments on posts not going to the blog. Mine comment has shown up now.

Don't get me wrong Gstaff, I appreciate your position in all of this. It's just incredibly frustrating. This copy of fallout cost me $79 CAD and a few odd pennies... for a product not working as advertised. If it was an issue with the PC port I'd be more likely to understand due to the Securom protection used, and the almost endless possible hardware conflicts that could cause the issue. However with a console this issue lies purely in the QA teams hands. They either didn't thoroughly test the different versions of the discs shipped (contrary to their reports) or weren't informed of or provided with all the versions that were shipped to Canada. Either way this is detrimentally affecting your teams reputation in Canada (and possibly other parts of the world).

As they say, time is money. I wonder if any sort of apology or restitution will be offered to those of us affected...

Not sure why that would have happened then...I've been accepting other posts go through relating to the topic. Between spam and other messages I have to go thruogh, I go through an awful lot, so maybe I made a mistake.

*points above to his edited comment*. Blog comment taken back. I wouldn't want to be the public face of Bethesda right now... :)

I also bought the GOTY (i live in canada) and it wont read my save game files... My original game was the regular Fallout 3 edition... GOTY code is BLUS 30455. Don't know the code of the original as I traded it in when I found out the GOTY was coming for PS3.

Thanks. -Don't know if this helps, but I noticed that in "Game Data Utility" it placed a new "Fallout 3" file in there, but did not replace the old one. The old ones version is 1.10 and is 4316mb, the new one from GOTY has no version number and is only 752mb.

Have you been actively playing on the GOTY, via a new save or whatever?

Just got an email back from Bethesda support:

"This is an issue we are currently investigating."

So they are looking into it... I just hope that they take the time to fix it.

After playing an hour of GOTY my Game Data Utility is over 6600mbs.

Hmm, that's what they said about the original Canada game and nothing came of it. Keep putting pressure by sending in those reports.

same problem here as well

Original Fallout 3 - BLUS30185
GOTY Edition - BLUS30455

Saved games from my original one not working with the goty

Hopefully something can be done quickly as I really want to play this. Already platinumed the original so around 200 hrs invested in it. Really not ready to invest the same amount of time again
