Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul SPOILERS

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 3:03 pm

I've got a technical question.

While on my way to Skingrad, I passed the Military Build Up quest ( the one with the diagonal tower ), and I think the area has an effect where your screen shakes every half minute or so.

Well, I've passed there, gotten the effect, but the effect won't go away! I'm now in Skingrad and no matter what I do, restart the game, enter a new area, etc etc, my screen will shake every half minute or so. Anybody have a solution?

Not really an OOO problem I feel.
You'd be better directing your issue and question at the culprit mod.

Have you tried loading an earlier save and replaying the shaking area? I don't know what has caused your problem, but if reverting to an earlier fixes it, then... Well, then it's fixed.

I do think it's an OOO problem, since I got it at a place where a OOO quest is. It also made sense to have a shaky effect there, so I'm really sure it is atleast partly caused by OOO.

I would hate to replay the shaking area, since I hadn't saved for some time before that and I've already played for some time past that.

Of course, if nobody knows a better solution I will do it, but shouldn't something like this be able to be toggled off by a console command or something?

Loading an earlier save is pretty standard troubleshooting practice in a case like this. It rules out the possibility that the problem lies in your savegame.

Okay I've reloaded an earlier save, replayed the game till I got to the Tower with the military build up again, then I got the shaking screen effect. After that I fast travelled to the IC and the problem persisted, even when I enter a building.

Have you tried getting hurt? Damages make the screen shake, so that's worth a try.

I've tried that, both during, after and before combat the screen continues to shake every half minute.

This problem comes from the "Malevolent" mod. I'm not sure if a way to remove that shaking effect was ever provided. The effect goes away normally if you enter the tower to continue the quest, but you need to be the Champion of Cyrodiil to do so.

I've tried that, both during, after and before combat the screen continues to shake every half minute.

Oh damn, I feel pretty stupid for thinking the Military Build Up quest was from OOO. Well thanks for helping me, I'll replay the game without passing near the place, and I'll enter it when I'm ready to finish it.

Have things been changed with the 1.34 patch? I couldn't find the Blue Glass shield ANYWHERE around the waterfall, not even using tcl to navigate. Does anyone have a screenshot of where it is originally? I tried looking for it in the lake/river/sea thing, but didn't have much luck either.

And a smaller question... is there any OOO-added Heavy Armor that looks good on females? :D Because all Amazons wear is Light, and I can't do the quest for the Braided armor yet, which takes out the Dread Armor as well. Help? I want to look good while killing things! :D

Yes, it's still there - close to a chest at the end of the waterfall.

Well, you could settle for Braided until you can get the Dread Armor set. You'll have to do Narind for that. You might like the Imago Storm set which uses VagabondAngel's Femme Daedric, but it's almost as hard to get as the Dread set. Also, Heaven's Fury is nice for paladin types.

Oh, so it's only Narind for the Braided Armor? I could possibly, maybe not really do that... unless I cheat. Hmm... Looking good or not cheating... to be or not to be...

You have to take the green game in Narind to be able to wear Braided - you'll find the armor in several other places as well, though.

Since you're looking for heavy armor, I assume you're not so stealthy, but if you are, you can make a snatch and grab kind of operation. Tough but doable :D

I was planning on getting myself lots of Invisibility potions/scrolls, and then going in along with the Protectors, and see where that got me.

Running past them doesn't work very well - I still have 40 AGL, which means that even ARROWS send me flying. -.- And they're good enough to hit a moving target.

Of course, I can always go TGM on them. >:-D

Just go in there light with tons of invisibility potions and make a run for it. Don't even try engage them. I grabbed Light of Dawn at level 7 with this technique. Getting out was the most difficult part :-)

Okay, I got myself able to wear Braided Armor... except I can't wear a full set *sigh* It's too heavy for my wimpy char. I get left with 20-30 pounds? Kilos? free, so I can't even go adventuring properly. Oh well, I'll settle for one or two pieces until I get stronger.

I have a question about the Ayleid weapons that seem to be everywhere. The silvery with blue stones ones. Which is the best Blunt one, and how can I get to it? I'm using the two-handed mace from Ninendava now, and I have recently acquired the one-handed Axe from the Chorrol (I *THINK*) Fighter's Guild. While they're good (and the 2H one, at 75 weight, makes them stay down once they're down), the damage they do once the enchants run out isn't really something to rave about. Should I just wait to get a Deadric and enchant it myself? :/ I like how these look :D

I hope you invested Alteration as one of your chosen skills. I can't empasize enough how valuable both feather and shield spells are, especially in early character development. Try to enchant a piece of jewelry with constant feather until your stronger. It really does help with wearing more armour.
Ayleid Weponry will run out of charge very quickly by their very nature. My favourite blunt is found in Veyond, the two handed Battleaxe Gal Malatta Volenmaic (spelling?) Good luck getting to that one in early levels.
Daedric weapons will be a rare thing to find before level 20, and normally drop only in the Oblivion realm.

IIRC Daedric weapons can be found on giant slaughterfish, and I remember in particular where you can find a hand-placed daedric dagger at level 1 (again, assuming you can get in and out alive).

Well, I'm not in a big hurry to get Daedric :) I'm almost level 13 now, and two quests away from Fighter's Guild Master. So Veyond you say... time to invest in more Invisibility Potions.

I use Restoration, Destruction and Alchemy as far as magic goes. And Geomancy ^^ I frequently go through my entire stock of potions in one dungeon, but that's okay, with all the meats everywhere.

Where does Lutsah (or similar) come from? He's up at Hidden Camp, and carries an offhand parrying staff with some cool enchants. Took AGES to kill, and I died twice trying. Is this from FCOM?

That would be Hrun Illmouth and the staff is Lhotun's Wish. He's an OOO boss.

Wow, my memory for names is even worse than I thought.

Thank you, he's the one. Is there a quest regarding these bosses? Or just random-ish encounters? And do they all have cool items? :D Where can I find some more?

Some are involved in quest lines, some not. Some of them have really neat items. Lord Volmyr is the most uber of them - perfect to test if you're character is up for it. Not on Level 13, though... Here is a list of them:

Apra Donteius - Fort Doublecross
Carla Duvrey - Dark Fissure
Ederiath Vrastal - Lipsand Tarn
Eregor - Yeleri
Faran Hestarius - Fort Flecia
Fayth Noor - Underpall Cave
Hlofor the Arctic Bear - Dasek Moor
Hrun Illmouth - Hidden Camp
Lady of Embers - Fieldhouse Cave
Larei - Narind
Lich of Faernel Tulw? - Lipsand Tarn
Lien Valeth - Wendelbek
Lord Orontes - Varondo
Lord Volmyr - Nornalhorst
Marlek - Ice Dragon Clan Camp
Reaver of Ghuul Icxth - Varastal
Seil Hestarius - Fort Facian
Vyka Helrst - Camp, NE Bruma
Voice of Nature - Charcoal Cave
Xyval Vikyur - Palace District/Light the Dragonfires

Thank you :) Is there a list of them AND their items somewhere? I know Volmyr has Light of Dawn and I should wait until level 34242131231 to go there, and the named elf in Narind had a sword (that he killed me with :(), but I haven't seen the others :)

I got a bit of a problem:

I have just gotten some the parts of the Dragon armor (The armor you get from the Skyrim bandits), and from my research it seems the rest of the parts are on a guy you must kill later on in the Fighters Guild quests. However, my roleplay right now wont let me go through the FG quests. Is there another way I could get the pieces, or at least get the IDs?
