Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul SPOILERS

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:12 pm

You can go fight him and take his stuff, even if he's essential... :) I think he's available most of the time. You might need to frenzy him, though.

The IDs... I have the armor, and if clicking on it while it's on the ground will give me the IDs, I can do that and post them here.

I can find him without doing the FG quests? I thought he would only appear when he is seen in the FG quest. Where is he?

In the Blackwood Company Offices, in Leyawiin. I don't see any reason for him to be missing until the FG quest :) He likely IS essential, though.

I got a bit of a problem:

I have just gotten some the parts of the Dragon armor (The armor you get from the Skyrim bandits), and from my research it seems the rest of the parts are on a guy you must kill later on in the Fighters Guild quests. However, my roleplay right now wont let me go through the FG quests. Is there another way I could get the pieces, or at least get the IDs?

The http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14658 has IDs for all items added by OOO. There's no list of bosses AND their items that I know of, but http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/ooospoilers.html lists the location for many of the items.

I killed him via console, took the items, then resurrected him. Hopefully this won't mess up anything in the future, but it worked :)

Do I have some sort of insane conflict going on with Havilstein Hoar-Blood's dog Redmaw, or does Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul turn him into a Daedric Prince, easily being incredibly harder than
Spoiler
Jyggalag
and/or Mannimarco (combined)? Or is my level 29 character just terrible compared to my old one? I spent a long time fighting him. After all that time, countless potions, countless spells, and http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/8514/screenshot10s.jpg, Redmaw finally died. My reward? Dog meat and a bone. It would have been around roughly 144 hits to kill him in total from my sword alone, based on how many times I restored its enchantment (25 pts Absorb Health, 10 sec Silence, plus about 29 damage at 60 blade skill). I guess I won't mess with dogs again. :bolt:

Edit: Thank you Arkngt!

OOO ups his level from 6 to 16 and HP from 130 to 190, so it seems you have something else going on there. :)

Is the Heaven's Fury armour you receive supposed to be unenchanted after you pick up the claymore, or should it gain an enchantment? I was under the impression that it would receive enchantments. Also, what's the point of the shield if the claymore is a two-handed weapon?

The armor is not enchanted and doesn't get enchanted either. Not sure about the second question - guess for those who want to pick and choose from different sets/weapons.

On the bright side, I suppose, I can enchant it myself with things of my choice. But only one enchantment on each :(

Just took a gander at the OOO quick reference sheet, and there seems to be two sets of armour - one normal and one gold - and two swords - one claymore and one longsword. Am most confused.

Seems like I'm going to have to make some difficult choices. To keep the Kelum or to nor keep the Kelum...

That's right. They are not added in the game, though. You'd have to add them via the console.

In that case, I'll trust the developer's judgement and give them a miss.

Is post 22 in the "[RELz] Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul 1.33, Discuss 1.34 Beta 5, Project Status, etc." series really the last? Last post there was Sep 24 2009, 06:41 AM.

Thats a loong time of idleness for a thread that popular. Or am I just useless at searching?

Just starting out. I was thinking I want to play a ranged character that will be sneaking a lot.

When choosing my race, it does not tell me what benefits there are in each race and six. I read the OOO readme, and still no info. Where can one find this information?

The wiki has the racial bonues :) uesp.net

Go Bosmer or Khajiit for a sneaky archer char. IIRC, they're the best suited for it.

Need advice

I was heading north of Bruma to do Lifting the Vale (Vanilla quest for the countess) when Vyka Helrst ran out chasing a troll. I followed her, she killed the troll and several goblins that they came across and then got stuck in spot where she ran around in circles. I approached her and saw the name. I attacked her, she was almost dead, when she went down she was only unconscious, essential unkillable character. so I looked her up and saw she is a part of OOO.

The problem here is I saved before I attacked her, reloaded after she would not die, and went back to bruma to read the posting on the wall. Went inside Bruma and she spawned in behind be and started laying waste to everyone.

I would like to know at what point she becomes Killable I am only lv 9, so I will have to reload a earlier save just before I left Bruma the first time. But I still want to know to avoid any further unresolvable situations with her.

Thanks

Vyka Helrst becomes unessential only if encountered in or beyond the Dragonclaw Rock area.
If you run into her before that try leading her there. The only other option is to reload a save before the encounter.
The reason she's made essential is MMM and Adonnays Classical Weaponry mod both have high level spawn points in the vicinity.
Often in previous versions she would already be dead and the body gone on arrival at the scene, thus making The Dragon's Skin she carries unobtainable.

I've got to ask a simple question, as I am not aware if this is MMM or OOO causing this.

I don't even know if it is done on purpose.

But it's the first time playing OOO and MMM and well... All the monsters are running quick as Usain Bolt on steroids. Are they supposed to be lighting bolts charging crazy along the plains?

I didn't notice any extremely fast enemies, although they seem to be getting to me faster than in vanilla... of course, in vanilla I'm usually one-shotting pretty much everything by level 10, so I can't talk about it ^^

Not really. MMM gives NPC's/monsters individual stats, so some will run a bit faster - some will be a bit slower. But, no, no lighting bolts. Sounds odd.

Cos like all the human beings they move just like vanilla.

But Gore Rats, they rush me down at a speed well... you know they scare the crap outta me every time.

Wolves roaming around the wilderness are at an okay speed once they have reached me, but as I fight them and wound them to the point where they have to retreat they regain their awesome speed and i'm stumbling after them shooting arrows at random.

Not lighting bolts, but they are 5 times the speed Vanilla was.
