well, hell... let's kick off the new thread!

I'm looking for some good OOO Bandit dungeons. I'm a level 15 warrior with decent equipment & want to explore some dungeons that won't make me regret waking up in the morning.

I just don't know which of the caves & ruins have been drastically changed by OOO, & don't want to accidentally walk into a nest of angry, naked, & vicious Amazons.

I'm definitely no expert, but, in general, stuff closer to the Imperial City (including quests) is easiest, and the further you get from there, the tougher it gets.

I bet there are exceptions to this, of course.

At level 15, you should be able to dominate near the Imperial City for the most part. I do pretty well at level 10, but sometimes I hit spots where I have to run and/or quaff potions like an alcoholic at his ex-girlfriend's wedding reception (true story).

2 straightforward bandit dungeons off the top of my head

Sinkhole Cave on Imperial Isle
Crumbling Mine, just outside the walls of Chorrol

Maybe also, (not 100% sure), Bellator's Folly just off the road up to Kvatch

I get the feeling this is against forum etiquette but my query was right at the end of the last thread so likely to never be seen again, so I'm gonna post it again -

I hope someone can help me....!

I'm having trouble with the "Skyrim Bandit Clans" quest...

I believe I have done everything that needs to be done yet the quest still appears "active" and points me towards something I have already done...Here is the order that I did things...

1. Read the notices in Bruma. Got the quest update saying that i have read the notices;
2. Killed Vyka (?) (the "Attractive" woman, can't remember where). Got the quest update saying I killed her and that there is probably a man out there that has been manipulated by her;
3. Killed a guy at hidden camp with Lhotun's (?) Wish staff.
3. Killed Mylek (?) (the guy with the Dragon's hunger sword extreme NE of the map).
4. Found a note at some camp directing me N of Dragon's Claw Rock to find a major base for the Clan. Get quest update telling me the same.
5. Go to camp N of dragon claw rock and find nobody. I believe this is where I already killed Vyka (?) (Attractive woman).

And that's it. I have no idea what to do now. After looking on the net I "believe" everybody important has been killed / Everything has been done. I have the Dragon Helmet + Cuirass + Greaves + Gauntlets + Boots + Shield + Cape + Sword.

...Got a feeling someone is going to use the word "bug" here....I hope not!

I don't think that's from OOO, dude. Unless it's a joke. :) Do you have any Middle-Earth/Lord of the Rings mods installed?

Soprano, I think it's okay that you reposted. :) Hopefully you'll get some help. Hang in there.

Your using Mart's Monster Mod also?
One of natures creatures has died under tragic circumstances, basically causing Mother Earth to cry with grief.

@RollingDragon - most of the forts around the IC should be doable by a well equipped level 15 m?l?e character, just as long as your block skill is on par with the rest of your skill set.
If not I strongly suggest before you try them to invest in a shield spell.

@Jesse_Dylan - Thanks I was beginning to think that my late join date and non-RP name was preventing my posts from being read....

I'm not sure if this is OOO related, but I think it is. Anyway. A couple of times now, I have contracted the vampire disease. My PC gets stuck in place, with her head hanging down, as if she is too weak and/or tired to move. I used a cure disease potion and a mandrake root. Afterwards, the disease was no longer listed in my current effects stats, but she still can't move. Any idea what might be going on? Thanks!

I'm new to OOO and playing with FCOM. I just got my ass handed to me by a Gargoyle in Sideways cave. Anyone have any tips for these things?

I haven't tried this yet, but I recently read that frost spells and frost-enchanted weapons work well against them. Good luck!

Well, gargoyles can be pretty tough, especially at low levels. A good strategy is to try to hit them with projectiles while dodging their attacks with a wall/column. If they chase you down and the battle gets melee - you might want to run if you're not strong enough. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that Gargoyles are weak to Cold based attacks, so if you're a mage and have a couple of good frost spells, you might want to try that.

Thanks guys. I think I'm just too weak at the moment (lvl 7 I think). I assume the Gargoyle is the "boss" of sideways cave because he is the only thing that has given me any real trouble and he is guarding a throne room with several chests.

i just cleared charcoal cave and got the winged stuff . and the winged dagger from DB sanctuary . i think its the best looking dagger in the game . i haven't been able to find the winged bow , the faq says its supposed to be in a chest north of sance tor , sw of ice dragon base . but that's a large area . can anyone point it out a bit more precisely . also it says in the faq that there's supposed to be a savage ogre there . is he always there or is it level dependent cos i didn't find any savage ogres . (i'm lvl 22)
one more thing , are there any drakefired boots anywhere i the game ?

It's hidden amongst rocks NW (IIRC, it was a while ago - rather close anyway) of Hermaeus Mora's Shrine and, yes, there should be a Savage Ogre closeby so when you see it you'll know you're close.

EDIT: Just checked for the Drakefired Boots - you'll find them worn by a dead adventurer in the Shattered Scales cave NE of Leyawiin.

His claymore is at his wife's grave not too far from his home. If memory serves me right, head east when you exit his home. It should be visible.

Look at the player's icon, not the mouse cursor. It's amongst rock as Arkngt said. You'll also get some daedric boots.

Is it the group of rocks a few feet from the grave? I'm not even seeing it with the grass toggled.

One thing that is confusing is that the OOO_131.exe installer adds "Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp" to the extraction folder (I put it directly in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data).

When I mouse over this file in the Oblivion mod manager, I see Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul 1.31 LITE version. What I want is the full version, and I'm not sure that I got that.

A chest in a low-level dungeon had an electric trap on it and one-shot my character. I know there's only like 3-5 different traps on low level chests and only one of them is an instant damage electric attack - I'd like to know, how much damage does this do?

A Path of Iron was added in OOO 1.32. Check http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1042029 for the latest version and upgrade to it. I'd recommend at least 1.33, but there's really no reason not to update to 1.34Beta5 - it's stable, fixes stuff and adds a new exquisite Light of Dawn design. If you have the bandwidth to spare it's probably easiest to download/install 1.33 complete and update it to 1.34Beta5.

Hm, I just noticed that the weakest Shock spells are Apprentice ones when using OOO, which means my current Lvl 3 char can't use them - and I was just going to finish up the Finger of the Mountain quest. Does anyone know if there are a buyable shock spell scroll somewhere - or are they all random? Or is there a shock spell staff I could go for - either to buy or get (achievable for a Lvl 3 char)?

Edgar's Discount Spells in the Market District - you don't want the very best, you want cheap. And he's got cheap.

He has a very handy 17-damage touch shock spell that is Novice-level. My Thief character with the Mage birthsign uses it in lieu of meleeing
