@dev_akm: I was really frustrated with crashes and applied a filter to my entire load order in TES4Edit. I started editing many mods to get rid of annoying name disagreements that show up as "red" conflicts. "Weye" (the dude's) house is one of those. Another one is one of the Mage's guild floors having "east" tagged at the end when the FormID says "west." I think OOO corrects it to "west," but some other mod in the FCOM setup overrides it. I have very few mods overriding one another because my load order is basically UOP, USIP, Evironment Mods, FCOM +SlofRobeTrader+OMG+Blood&Mud, ULs, RBP, SM, LAME, nGCD, Progress, BC, my mergeable patches, bashed patch, my world&cell patch.


If you can remember which mod caused the name problem, I'll be glad to add a fix into the proper patch. Sounds like something fixed in UOP that OOO honors but other mods don't.

Wow, the AI is pretty smart in this mod. I was walking to Chorrol and got ambushed by a group of 5 bandits. Later on down the road, after walking through a fort, suddenly a highwayman tried to rob me! He was hiding in the bush around the corner, smart bastard...

You mean the flame effect? It's not a shader. It's part of the mesh. That's why it looks so cool.

Did you remove quest item status from Light of Dawn? Enemies shouldn't be able to disarm it.

Ohh... well then I don't know what went wrong. The Light of Dawn started out as a quest item, but after a while, it reverted into a regular item (probably I put it in a home container using Cobl, and something went wrong). I guess I figured that was part of the mod. :/
Well, I just finished killing a hundred vampires, and it's a quest item again, so I'll try turning the mesh thing on again.

Actually, I suspect both neither of these cases had much to do with the AI.

As a counterpoint to this, I've found that evil NPCs don't notice nearby guards. By following the patrols around Lake Rumare, I've picked up several new sets of armor from bandits and highwaymen. One ran up to give me the money-or-life speech while I was standing between two mounted legionnaires!


That could be either an indication of AI overload or it could just be a faction problem. In any case I'll double-check for any possible faction issues there.

Awesome mod. That pretty much sums it up.

Also, is there a chance of making a .bsa for this mod. It would make unistallation alot easier.

BIG PROBLEM. I have no idea what has gone wrong. I installed the Full version of 1.33 on a COMPLETELY Vanilla Oblivion. Just freshly installed onto my computer, I haven't even played it yet. First thing I did was download and install this mod. I checked all the Misc Addons, same with the Additional Addons.

I have the GOTY with the latest patch I'm pretty sure since I just bought it today. After installing OOO I start up the launcher, go to the Datafiles and check all the esps. Then I go back and click play, then the screen goes dark with the little Vista loading circle thingy in the middle. Then it just goes back to desktop. No errors come up, nothing. Literally nothing happens at all after I click play. I'm very confused here.

Yes I have Vista. And yes I installed it twice. Still. Nothing. I would really, really love to begin my Oblivion mod experience with this one, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The full version includes all of the add-ons, so disable these unless planning on using the lite version.
I'd advise goimg with the full mod, and if doing so update to version 1.34 linked on page 1 of this thread.

"Vista users beware of the EXE installer! If you use the EXE version on Vista you may not get all the resource files when you install. Best way to avoid this is to use the OMOD installation or the manual 7zip installation. If you still prefer to use the EXE, then you must install twice: once without picking any options and then again picking the options you want."

you used the exe installer version?

Noticed a small conflict between OOO and Mimics! Any chance http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w179/octavius243/Kjetto/?action=view¤t=ScreenShot122-1.jpg could be moved slightly to avoid it looking like the mimic is eating that chest?


EDIT:
On a different note, I must say that unlike some other mods with OOO I get more and more impressed the more I play it.
Nearly everytime I find something special that makes me go "nice touch!" it's Oscuro who has put it there, even with 400 other mods installed.
And I really like how open the big quests are and how correct the journal entries are, no matter what order you kill and find stuff.

I wasn't sure which thread to put this in (FCOM, OOO, COBL ) My apologies if it is in the wrong thread.

I seem to have a problem with the locked chests in my game,

I have a Default FCOM install as per the Five fries cheat sheet
+ COBL, Better cities, Blood and Mud, Glevar Castle,UOP ,UO SIP,KendoGirl,Map Maker Overhaul,OBSE 1.8

Have the load order sorted with Boss and used Wrye Bash to do the suggested merging and Bash Patch all seems to be working excellent, with my limited understanding of Wyre bash.

Now to the Problem,

It seems that every locked chest is impossible to open, When I try to open a chest, the chest glows purple. The only way I can open a locked chest is with a spell.

I used the suggested OOO tweak to disable the lock ( Set LapMinLock to 0, Set LapNoCombatLock to 0 )
and those console commands seem to work for about 15min approx and I could use lockpicks to open the chests. Then all chests ingame returned to what was previous (Unable to Unlock )
I then tried the ingame menu COBL options to set the lock off, The result was no change (All still unable to unlock)

I was thinking that maybe the OOO console commands I used and the COBL OOO options are conflicting in some way.

I have searched the dev OOO help pages and the COBL pages, but no solution to the locked chests

Any ideas on what to do please

Have you read the complete OOO readme? This is normal. When you activate a chest with your weapon drawn, it glows purple to show you can bash it open with power attacks (there are strength requirements). If you want to pick the lock, holster your weapon and/or sneak. If it doesn't work, there's another problem with your installation.

I just tested the chest again and I could use the lock picks again

Rebooted again and loaded up the same save game, and chests have gone back to being inaccessible. :banghead:

I will do a re install of OOO and then Cobl and see if that makes a difference

General and generic advice:
Testing with only FCOM would be a good idea, to see if another mod is interfering or if the problem is in the way you installed FCOM.
When I have a major problem I usually load my game with only Oblivion.esm+DLC+Unofficial fixes to see if the problem goes away, and then I go back to my usual load order and deactivate mods by group and test everytime, to pinpoint the culprit. Tedious, but it has served me well.
When I've found the culprit I go back again to my usual load order, deactivate the bad mod (or fix it if possible), and keep playing. You don't want to wildly add and remove mods to your saves, something eventually goes wrong if you do that.

Got It sorted now I hope,

I narrowed it down to a corrupt OOO File I downloaded Last year on Dialup.
Luckily I had another backup copy I download of OOO last month
All seems to be running correctly after the reinstall of the good 000 file I have

Yes, we've been working on the BSA for a while now. Hopefully we'll have it ready for the next release.

Only found that one chest, so it's hardly worth making a patch for. I don't think Mimics will be updated either, but if/when OOO is it should be easy to just slighly move

I just reached level 5, and my FotM spell costs 160 magicka, requires 75 destruction, and is only slated to do 24 dmg. Other quest items I have (rockshatter) have leveled up correctly ... just curious if anyone else has any experience with the FotM spell, OOO and Quest Award Leveling.

Are you using a magic overhaul (like LAME or Supreme Magicka)? These may well mess with Finger of the Mountain. In my game, I'm level 11 and Finger of the Mountain is a Journeyman spell (needs 50 destruction). I use LAME, but not SM.

I do use SM, but when I was using it pre-OOO, I had the same experience as you were. Maybe it's a load order issue? Where should I have Quest Award Leveler in the load order? (Or should I deselect the FotM piece of the mod if SM does something similar?)

If someone will make a small patch for it, then I will merge the patch into OOO. I probably won't have time to do it myself since I'm swamped with more pressing details getting the FCOM/MMM/OOO releases done.

Hi,

I'm using FCOM and lately i had a minor problem/bug with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul.

I decided to be a champion of the daedra so i did all the daedric prince quests after i finished all the quests i couldn't continue with a Path of Iron (Melus Petilius Paladin equipment quest)

Is this a bug?.

you defile the holiness of the gravesite by attacking the man and forcing him to kill you thereby condeming the mans soul to be the property of Molag Bal, and now you want the armor of heavens fury. haha, no it isn't a bug you must make a choice between one or the other. so if you want it you will have to make another character without doing Bal's quest, which will also prevent you from doing Mora's quest I believe.
