Other games spoiling skyrim for you?

Post » Sun Oct 26, 2014 5:08 pm

Don't get me wrong. Skyrim is my favourite game and most likely will always be, I most certainly owe loyalty to it. But lately, with the release of newer, more advanced games, I find myself loosing interest in a different way then before. Monolith's Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor title comeing out

recently (PC, PS4, XBOX ONE) and next month (PS3, XBOX 360) I find myself looking to these new titles for the reliable entertainment that Skyrim used to offer.

Anyone else feel the same?

The only game I can see "spoiling" Skyrim for me would be Elder Scrolls VI

Dragon's Dogma sort of reminded me of Skyrim.

I hop between games constantly, no point in burning myself out with one game, it really depends on my mood. :)

I enjoyed playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim since 11.11.11 when Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios released it for sale. Then in late 2012 I lost interest in playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim a lot for a lot of different reasons, one of the reasons is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt since then I played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for about 30 minutes a day to 1 hour a day I just can't play the video game much anymore it bores me very fast.

I can't wait for February 24th, 2015 to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the first The Elder Scrolls video game that got me bored of playing so fast and not even want to purchase another The Elder Scrolls video game ever again. I don't think I will get excited when Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, and Todd Howard announces The Elder Scrolls VI and show YouTube gameplay videos.

I dont think any other game has spoiled me from playing Skyrim. Recently I've gonna back and played a bunch of older games on various different gaming systems and one thing always happens.......I always go back to Skyrim. I love this game and look forward to the next one.

Skyrim spoiled my Oblivion playing somewhat :P.

I dont think anythings really going to spoil a beth game for me though. Some games may have singular aspects of what TES/Fallout does better, but as a cohesive whole I havent found anything that matches it on the same level.

Skyrim will never get old for me. There's just something about it that does something no other game can. One of those games that I can play Day to Day, for hours at a time. That being said, it's fine to enjoy other games, too. I play other games regularly, Destiny, Dark Souls & The Witcher to name a few. Don't really understand what the point you're making is. Shadow of Mordor is Shadow of Mordor, Skyrim is Skyrim. Each bring their own to the table. Never played Shadow of Mordor, but from what I've seen, it's more Assassin's Creed than Elder Scrolls. I'd say you're just getting bored of Skyrim, rather then other games ruining it for you. Which is understandable.

Just bought an Xbox One yesterday for 350 bucks with the Kinect from somebody at work. Guess I got lucky. I was very impressed with the system. I am still playing Skyrim now as I am going through guilds and the main quest for the first time. I think it is a fitting way to end the life of the 360. I still have Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and WWE 2k14 and I plan to hold on to them. With that said, I am ecstatic to see some new games for the Xbox One and I absolutely am going to throw up when the new Fallout and Elder Scrolls come. The only game that has caught my eye so far like Skyrim seems to be The Witcher 3. I've never played any Witcher games so I don't know how similar they are.

They should be, by now, but no, IMO no game better or nearly as good as skyrim has come out yet. Lots of people agree with me as skyrim just recently won #1 on a huge poll for best game of all time.

It's kind of embarrassing for the industry, how developers can even have the nerve to bring out crappy linear defined protagonist games after skyrim is beyond me. Every game since skyrim has been irrelevant IMO. Hopefully don't have to wait until tes 6 before skyrim is surpassed, but I see nothing on the near horizon.

Let's take a closer look at the elephant in the room and remember that the Creation Kit tool is the golden trophy, not the game itself.

Skyrim all on its own is a great game but the mod compatibility is what makes it 1 in a million.

Not really. The Elder Scrolls are the Elder Scrolls. No other game so far gives the same experience the series does.

I play other games for things the Elder Scrolls doesn't have and probably doesn't need. (Platformers! JRPGS!)

*goes back to playing Radiant Historia*

This.

Beth released the CK, and in turn, the Skyrim Mod Author community has created (and continues to create) amazing PC content that extends replay value and potential to the virtual horizon.

Skyrim actually spoils all other games for me :)
