Pretty cool that there are enemies that aren't aggressive towards you. Throwing weapons sounds yummy too.

Translation of some details from the french magasine. I speak french as a native language so I have no trouble translating it

"les dragons survolent les temples qui leur sont dédiés" ---> Dragons fly around temples dedicated to them (though they do other things too, but I didn't want to write the whole paragraph)

"les coups critiques se voient désormais affublés d'actions contextuelles. Planter sa hache dans le cou ou une dague en pleine poitrine vient parfois clore le combat" ---> critical hits now have different animations, and sometimes an axe in the throat or a dagger in the tummy will finish the fight

"Il y a par exemple, ce géant que nous avons croisé près de riverwood. Tant que vous ne l'attaquez pas, il continuera sa route" --> As an example, there's this giant we saw near riverwood. as long as you don't attack it, it'll keep minding its own business

"...qui se focalisent sur les 120 dongeons de Skyrim, TOUS DIFFéRENTS" ---> ...who focus on the 120 dungeons in Skyrim, ALL DIFFERENT

"...ou de lancer..." ---> Couldn't really CLEARLY make this out, and the actual sentence is LONG, but it seems like throwing weapons are back. Unless they consider bosw as throwing weapons, but I think they would have said it otherwise

That's pretty much all I could make out that I haven't heard about in the forums

Thanks for the extra effort :goodjob:

I was not implying that they were. But forgive me for not writing down every country that has not had Skyrim coverage so far. :cookie:

Pete Hines' tweet
@DCDeacon Will the armour system work like it did in Oblivion/MW where there are multiple slots for our apparel or like Fallout's 2 items?
@Rhysuzaki Multiple. We aren't making a Fallout game. We are making an ES game. What works in one doesn't necessarily work in the other.

Just thought I should quote that to reiterate it.

With that in mind, and the fact that they said two armor slots like in Morrowind means they probably misunderstood. No ES game has had only two armor slots.
I'm so ready for Bethesda to update the Elder Scrolls website with all of the official information so we don't have all these misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

As for Dragons flying around temples dedicated to them... That's pretty scary. But it also means I'm going to destroy all of those temples :D

Thanks for taking the time to look for new information and post it.

I'm happy to see that there will be other sentient races/creatures that don't attack on site. It always bothers me that everything is always trying to kill you. It would be cool is there were even quests from the giants.

As far as the armour thing goes, I think people are overreacting. The author may have been implying two different things from that quote. She may have been implying that there would be multiple pieces of armour, unlike the Fallout games. She may have also been conveying a direct quote from Bethesda that they have restored the Morrowind style armour equipment. Before we jump all over the author and Bethesda, lets way and see what is true.

why would you wear armour pieces from different sets?
looks outta place and clunky imo.

Because function is more important than style? I wore a leather hat for a long time in Oblivion because it was the best helmet I had for a long time. It looked ridiculous with the little tassel thing on top, but I wore it to protect myself!

I think it would be quite jarring to for example suddenly move from leather to glass armor all at once, all because it looks better. In addition, as I slowly replace my old armor one piece at a time and form a new whole, as the armor set becomes complete it is more satisfying in my opinion.

Throwing weapons?? Sounds great!

Sounds like it's down to OXM on Feb 10th to clear up all of these misunderstandings about things getting lost in translation. I hope it's a TES fan writing the preview...

More info is always welcome :D

The Giant not attacking on sight kinda makes sense.. as i`m sure one of the earlier examples given on the radiant story quests, involved a couple of Giants approaching you for help regarding a Mammoth. It will be great if they aren`t made into mindless savages who attack on sight like the norm.

Yup, some beasts not attacking you on sight will definitely make the world feel more alive, as now you can walk besides a few of them while looking at the environment at the same time, without even having to draw your weapon!

I just hope they're not as easily offended as that unicorn in oblivion... that thing was the devil itself

Found it. That a pic-legend, that's why I missed it. :P

"A une ou deux mains, tranchantes, contondantes ou de lancer, les diverses armes varient en fonction de leur origine culturelle : naines, elfes, humaines".

de lancer --> throwing weapons.
naines --> dwarf, aka dwemer weapons.

Crap, that's a HUGE thing to miss. *is embarrassed* You're right also about the 120 different dungeons. We should have said that.

Also, in the same legends, random encounters take into account your level, but also your equipment. Weirdly enough.

So with the throwing weapons, I take it you are focusing on the word "lancer"? Can you say a bit more about how this word is commonly used in French, and why you think this isn't merely referring to bows (for instance, is there another word which is more commonly used for bows?)

No worries, he got it right. "Armes de lancer" cannot be constructed as anything else than "Throwing weapons"

That does raise my hopes some.

*Sigh* Don't you love clueless writers?...

I personally think it was a misunderstanding.

The writer clearly said "like Morrowind" and could just as easily of put that in just to pass over the redundancey of listing armor pieces or slots. Saying it's like Morrowind tells consumers who played that game to think back to that system. So instead of listing it all they just gave two examples and said basically without giving a long list it works similar to/ or exactly like Morrowind.

Or atleast I hope it does.

But the not-so-good thing is that I haven't read the whole article. there were a few pages missing in the scans I got. I know because some sentences aren't finished at all

and yeah, throwing weapons sounds awesome! I just hope we can throw axes, so I'll be a real viking!

I hope I can get an enchanted hammer that I can throw and it will return to my hand just like Thor!
