Can you still play as other races in Skyrim? Do you play as that guy from the trailer?

Yes, all ten races will be there.

I'm sure it's been confirmed all 10 races are included in skyrim, it would be kind of stupid if they let you been a different race in all the other games on not the newest one. :goodjob:

of course, the choice to pick and customize a race is just expected, along with starting out the game in prison/leaving prison

One can choose from among several races, I believe 10, unless something new has been added for Skyrim.

The other day Pete tweeted "we aren't showing NPCs yet. We know folks want to see their argonians, dark elves, etc". They are in just not being shown yet.

Ten races, male or female, and according to Game Informer and the Art of Skyrim video, a nice (and powerful) appearance customisation system.

It's understandable, because I think the trailers somewhat skewed the idea that you'll be able to play as different races. But, yes you will be able to play as every race.

No doubt mods will add plenty of others - both lore based and otherwise

Yes they should all be there, alot of games like showing a hero that sums up the plot.
So the teams create a specific "face" for the game to use in videos, one that sums up the vibe of the game.
Not every game does this however, FO is consistent with its dark armoured NPC ( apart from the one that shall not be named. )

It also helps many games release novels based on the game.
As a strong central character from the vids, with an established name just transcribes itself better.

As with every TES game (I'm pretty sure, not sure about the mini games/handhelds etc) you get to choose your race.

hwo theyre gonna put that into the storyline is beyond me though.

I still vote for subspecies.
So many types of Khajjit alone and we always had but a single one.

Dragons sound interesting, espicaially if they could fly.
