I guess the title says it all. Personally for me I love the fact that Brink is a bright shooter. By that I'm talking about the color scheme, no generic gun-metal gray or desert tan that nearly every shooter has. I think it's refreshing when watching all the videos of game play seeing shades of bright blue and white and then seeing the dark shades of rust in CC. I guess it tells us, the players, how much different things are for both of the sides. Kinda like Bethesda, Splash Damage is telling stories with their environments which for me is a plus. I guess saying this makes me an artsy gamer.

So what is your favorite feature of Brink?

Classes, weapon customization (that isn't one attachment like MW2, lots and lots of attachments for 4 parts of your gun.)

I like that there are many objectives for online. What I noticed about games like Call of Duty is that there everyone has their own game type that they like. When playing with friends I allways want to play DOMINATION but my friends want to play Team Deathmatch. Brink is awesome because it puts every game mode into one game mode as differant objectives. You can just play like its a Team Deathmatch but you can also play Search and Destroy, Domination, Demolition all that jazz.

Team based multiplayer, art direction/design, the whole sp/co-op/versus as one thing.

Well - I mean there are many features that come over from Enemy Territory - awesome objective system, kickass class system with a lot of teamwork. So the newest ones would probably be SMART or character customization (with the unlock system). Other than that it would also be the fact that the game has colour and maybe that PC will have dedicated servers. That is a rarity these days. :P

There are still different buttons.

Either the artstyle or if it's done well then the apparently open and fluid objectives system.

I think this game is going to wind up like TF2, i.e. Awesome gameplay and a fun world to experience it in, I mean Brink even has hats ffs.

Yeah it has been said that you can perform all SMART functions with the normal jump etc butons and learning how to do it with them will even provide advantages over SMART I believe :)

I have to say that if there wasn't S.M.A.R.T. and character customization I wouldn't be excited for BRINK.

+1 :)

Fast paced, class based shooter with objectives for both teams. Nothing more, nothing less.

Edit: With 1 on 1 battles which last for more than 2 seconds.

Kinda hard to pick one, but I'd say weapon customization is a big plus for me. Of course, the awesome art style and team-based gameplay (8-player COOP!) helped draw me in aswell.

I also love the way Paul Wedgewood and others talk about the features of the game. Splash Damage seems really in-tune with what the players want. They are also catering to players that are not familiar to online FPS games with the objective wheel (telling them to revive someone etc).

All in all I couldn't ask for much more out of a video game. Can't wait, pre-ordered on steam after pre-order stuff was announced.

* Edit: Forgot to add:

"I'm really sensitive to the dangers of introducing things in the game that people can obsess over, to the point of ruining the game for others, and we're very careful to identify and avoid them. For instance, global leaderboards for stuff like k/d ratios and what not: bad idea, since they disccourage players from taking chances and actually doing what's necessary to help. So bam! Not having them. I know other games do, and they're kind of standard, but screw it, not the right thing for Brink"

That put me over the edge.

:flame: how could you.
Jk btw, i would pick smart but since i cant ill choose different body types because in this game there are actually downsides as opposed to the cod series because you can have more helath and move faster than everyone else using cheap perks.

He just likes heavies and there is nothing wrong with that (i suppose). Brink will be a (hopefully) game with balance so that there are benefits and drawbacks to the options you have.

that and it isnt as great as people make it out to be. some things are pretty cool like the slide but other than that its just most of the things that you can do in most other fps games but with a little boost

+1 to class-based multiplayer, and elaboration:

It's not just another class-based shooter. Team Fortress 2 is class-based, but the class differences don't tickle me the same way as Brink's. TF2's classes all have different ways of killing the enemy, and just two of them actually interact with other players on the same team. (Four if you count compression blast and Jarate, but those are pretty weak interactions.) I love TF2, and the diversity of the classes is excellent, but it's not fundamentally for people whose great joy in multiplayer gaming is working together as a team (ironically enough). No matter what class you are in Brink, you are able to interact with your teammates in some way. Either you're giving them health, or ammo, or a damage buff, or enemy positions on their minimap, and each of those things is a really big deal. It makes each member of the team important and meaningful even if most of the killing is being done by one or two guys, and that means it feels like more of a team.
