Hello my Hearties,

I have tried to download the quest mod Oubliette a couple of times from the host site, TESAlliance. However I have always had problems. I cannot unzip the rar file properly. It always produces a message that some file is missing or corrupt. I don't think there is a problem with my unzipper program because it has opened thousands of files properly. Can the file be downloaded somewhere else and if so could someone tell me where there is a fully working download? This is rather tiresome so thanks if you can help.

Think I got my version from TESA though, never had any problems with files there.

Thanks but TESNexus does not host the file, it simply links to the TESAlliance download. I assume I cannot be the only one who had trouble with this file.

Just had a look and the file is not hosted on Nexus - you have to use the mirror. I am downloading now because it looks interesting. If I encounter any problems with the zip I will post again, otherwise if you hear nothing from me after an hour of this post assume that it is OK.

There is nothing wrong with the file, many users have downloaded it and had no issues. I'd also suggest you direct any future issues you may have to the site Staff rather than posting here.

Just on the off chance you were actually NOT whinging aimlessly again at having to download from TESA... XD I just downloaded the Oubliette myself. Took about five minutes. Download went fine. Extracted the files on my desktop...that also went without a hitch. Installed the mod and loaded up my game and yes, that too is working without a problem.

So, perhaps now might be a good time to stop blaming the site and start actually diagnosing where your problem really is. If the archive you're getting is coming corrupt then the most likely culprit is your version of WinRar has become corrupt. It does happen. It's happened to me several times over the years and for no apparent reason. :lmao: Try a different program, like 7zip, or a different browser.

But as there are already several people in this thread who haven't had an issue, how about we focus on the real problem, which is NOT the download or TESA. Thank you.

The most common causes for your issue are a corrupt unzipper (as Guru mentioned) or a premature unzipping, meaning you may be trying to unzip the file before it has finished downloading. It's a common error and due to the Oubliette's large size, easy to do. Make sure the file is completely downloaded before unzipping. Also, some systems have difficulties retrieving complete files from a flash based downloader, you can change your downloader settings in your profile to use our non-flash downloader if you think that may be the issue for you.
