In our Post-Apocalyptic World

Post » Thu May 06, 2010 12:14 pm

If the world did end like in Fallout, I'm not going into detail about how any of us survived, where would you visit?

I'd probably would go to Charleston,SC, Savannah,GA, or stay put where I live. (Cause it's a major technology hub of America.

I'm English X3 I'd probably go to a nasty seaside place like Skegness and turn Fantasy Island (cheap crappy 'amusemant park') into my personal kingdom. It'd be amazing. Broken rollercoasters and clowns as far as the eye can see. Plus, salt air makes my hair awesome. XDDD

That's a great idea! I'd barricade myself inside my steel fortress at http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/index.cfm. Let the Mirelurks try to get through that heap of twisted metal. Plus, if I'm lucky Lake Erie will be full of RadCatfish. Yum!

One of the northwest central states like North Dakota, because:
1. There's few people and nothing there worth nuking, so it'd probably be mostly intact: roiads, some buildings, and other infrastructure would bne essential to the reconstruction of society.
2. The people there are can-do types. Last time they got hit by a blizzard, no one asked for 2000-dollar debit cards or anything else from FEMA or Uncle Sam. They just dug themselves out and went on with their lives.
3. Because the population is conservative and well-armed, raiding, rioting, and/or looting would be extremely unhealthy.

I'd be thinking the North Cali or Oregon coast... prevailing winds from the Pacific Ocean, otherwise not too nasty weather swings, farm stuff, no particular reason to nuke it.

That's like the whole Andrew Ryan "BLARGHIAMGAWD!" thing. If Rapture was founded between now and the great war...that's where I'm going. Sounds like a nice place. Ocean front property, fight for survival against crazed civilians...back on topic now.

Another place the sounds fun in post-apocalyptic America...Alaska. Mutant Polar Yao Guai hear I come!

Hmm, seeing as I am a few hours outside of Washington D.C., I am not sure what I would do if the events of the Fallout series unfolded and this area was nuked. I am living on a military base currently, so odds are that this place would be one of the targets.

If I did however survive, I would gather as many supplies I can from the area and possibly have to sneak away with what I have. Then I would do most likely the cheesiest things that you all could think of, and that is trek across the country to the West Coast since my girlfriend is there for work related reasons. If I was able to make it that far and find her, I would use the skills that I have learned to survive. One thing is certain is that anyone I am with would have a far better chance of survival then any of those people on that Discovery Channel show "The Colony". =)

I'm about 30 miles east of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savannah_River_Site. If an enemy were to nuke America, I'm in the "puff plume" of one of the most likely targets.

If I did manage to survive, I'd probably be ghoulified.

I'd hit the local hardware stores, and hoard as much .308 ammo as I could find, then take my rifle to the nearest three story building overlooking a major avenue of egress. There, I'd name myself Arkansas, and start taking head shots at any passing refugee that happened to wander by. I'd hold that position until either my fingers fell off, or someone managed to flank me on the blind side, and put an end to my reign of terror.

1. The Oil Rig

2. Finland. As it was likely going to be nuked in a Cold War nuke scenario, I assume it was destroyed in Fallout as well. Finland would be very contaminated due to hits against itself but also Russia. Finland also has minimal amounts of own natural resources, sources of food and people. I believe Finland would be a highly depopulated, isolated right-wing military dictatorship.

3. Antarctica

Post apocalyptic world? I'd probably go to a place where there was a good source of population, but not TOO big where it would have been a viable target. But not too small where there are hardly any resources. And its probably best to stay away from major populace areas due to all the rioting and looting that'll be going on. Think of New Orleans after katrina. That place was a NITEMURR :obliviongate:

Edit: it sounds redundant, but i'm referring to a town with a population of no more than 150,000 people, and no less than 35,000.

I probably wouldn't go far considering I'd likely die in the Wasteland(s), but I'd try and visit all the places I have fond memories of, whether they're holiday destinations or old places I used to visit.

I'd like to see a post apocalyptic London, too, but I would likely be killed if I went there. :P
