Outdoor Arcane Enchanter?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:46 pm

Are there any Arcane Enchanters in the game that are accessible a short walk from a fast-travel landing point without requiring a building-load (and subsequent outdoor-load when I'm done)?

The percentage of my time that is spent waiting on load screens during a kill-enchant-kill-enchant cycle is something I'd like to cut down if possible.

I found one outdoors, but I don't think there was anything that you could do to fast travel close to it. I'm not even sure where it was anymore. I do know there is one. Just keep exploring and you'll find it and might find something nearby that you could fast travel to,

Duno....
I always use the nearest one because I don't fast travel.
Do you use an extremelly outdated PC or a PS3 (not trying to say, that 360 is better, but Skyrim seems poorly optimized for PS3)
Loading times are very short on my 360 compared to other games 6-8 seconds!
(sorry for a not-so-helpful post!)

There's one outside in Fort Amol.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's an alchemy lab. My bad...

Yeah lots of labs and no enchanters..... That's what I've seen so far but then again I've played little compared to most players.

There is one in the open-air market behind the dark-elf stallholder in Windhelm. If you are fast travelling that is just one load screen and you also have all the forging equipment nearby and outdoor merchants.

They do exist. I cannot recall the location names, but you might investigate outdoor locations with hagravens, forsworn or orc camps.

You can place one with the command console. That's what I did in Whiterun.

This! The one in Windhelm behind the merchant. Also, there's one in Orphan Rock, if I recall correctly - east of Helgen.

Try doing a kill-kill-enchant-enchant cycle instead?

Where do you get so fast kills? Main problem with fast traveling to the location is that it's usually in the middle of the enemy camp.
You need to close locations one cleared and one with many enemies and few contains over 10.

If you've gotten Nettlebane for Danica in Whiterun, Orphan Rock had one.

Thanks for the help, all. Will look into Orphan's Rock and the Windhelm Market. Windhelm is one of the cities I've deliberately been avoiding (to make sure all its follower candidates are locked-in at a high level when I make my first visit).

From the Wiki it seems to imply there's one at Serpent's Bluff Redoubt - is that one outdoors or indoors?

PS3. (That's also my response to people sugesting command console commands to solve this problem).

Only one Black Star. Black soul gems aren't plentiful enough to have a substantial accumulation of them. When I want to do 10 consecutive max enchants, that's usually 10 emptyings of humanoid souls from my Black Star, which usually means ten distinct trips to the enchanter. (Though one time I did have a lot of success killing Necromancers in a ruin that had an Arcane Enchanter, so I was able to make several enchants from my Black Star without reloads).

I homestead at Anise's Cabin. It's one instance/load, but downstairs there's an alchemey lab and arcane enchanter. Plus their's storage. And I invested in the trader at Riverwood which is only a quick jog away. Makes for a convient base.

Fellglow Keep has an arcane enchanter and plenty of humaniod souls for the harvesting. That's the spot, that's where I go.

You can load up on filled grand soul gems in the mages college. Just sell some loot to them, then buy their filled gems, then sell more loot.
After a while you'll have more filled grand soul gems then you know what to do with.

Yes! I did that too for using the Black Star at first. lol
It's so convenient that it is right off the front entrance and there are so many necromancers in there.
