Outside the box character ideas?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:56 pm

I was sitting at the creation screen, and i could not decide on a character.

I mean, you have your basic Warrior, Thief, and Mage classes, but i was hoping for something new.

I thought of Witchdoctor, use Alchemy, Conjuration (dabbles in the undead), Restoration for a bit of healing, and maybe a bit of Destruction.
Dress him up in some enchanted Forsworn armor and tada, you now have a Witchdoctor.

Does anyone else have some not so cookie cutter classes?

Please use detail :)

Have a good evening.

Ha ! Funny. I will have the game this week (at last, time !), and I was too kind of musing of making a kind of voodoo-lady. Raising the dead and making tons of weird potions. That'd be a change from my usual assassin type, I never actually took the time for magic or alchemy.

I wonder if I can make her short, old, round with tons of blue tatoos. Kinda like Pratchett's kelda.

I usually base my characters on someone from a book/film/tv show/other game etc. That way the character kinda...makes itself for you. So as long as you don't pick a cookie-cutter character, you are going to end up with a range of perks/skills etc.

Atm I'm roleplaying someone who is meant to be like Callisto from Xena :geek:

Be a barber! Shave Dragons, Werewolves, and Bar Patrons! Then give the dragons free touch-ups on their way out! Don't be too clumsy, though, if you want returning customers.

While a classic TES class I've always been a fan of a custom Nightblade;

One-handed sword
Light Armor
Sneak
Archery
Destruction
Alteration
Alchemy

And since its fun in Skyrim, Conjuration. Usually you'd use Illusion. Gives a nice kit for you to work with and can change your tactics depending on the situation. Ideally though you're going for sneaky killer.

My niece plays as an Alchemist of all things...
Alchemy
Restoration
Alteration
Illusion
One-handed (usually Axe)
Light armour

More often that not she keeps her blade poisoned and pacifies most wildlife that attacks her. She has a love for making potions ever since Morrowind* She'll happily spend hours hunting and collecting ingredients :)

*This is largely do to her playing Morrowind as a kid and being unable to effectively fight. She was terrified of everything so stuck to robbing cities blind and collecting flowers to make potions. That habit has stuck with her even though shes a far more capable player now.

A lot of it has to do with actual play style. more than any certain skills, although you can figure them out by the mechanics Skyrim lets you do. But I can go into any one particular on how I would envision they'd be played. Ill make all of them over the years anyway with Skyrim.

As for an actual Witchdoctor, http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb319/joniscrazy/Argo.jpg They are definitely viable, but Spell creation really helped out with 'Curses" and such. Hope you make something awesome. Cheers. :celebration:
