Outstanding Quests prior The Waters of Life

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:50 am

Hello,

I have a question regarding unexplored areas and outstanding quests. I am currently at Rivet City with Dad just before unlocking the Waters of Life quest, can i postpone The Waters of Life of Quest indefinitely until i decide to stop exploring other locations and engaging unfulfilled quests? Only at level 16, need more perks and better loot.

You can postpone any quest, for the most part, until you feel like doing it. There are some instances/DLCs where once you start, you are locked in until you finish it, but otherwise you are free to do whatever, whenever.

You can basiclly do evey side quest in the game including dlc's before you even touch the main quest if you want to.

Just be a bit careful when exploring buildings next to Rivet City or in the far west of the map. By exploring a certain garage and the Jefferson Memorial, you might accidentally skip ahead in the main quest and lose some quest reward XP.

One hint though: if you are keen on, let's say, a greater variety of foes out there in the wasteland, then you might want to consider finishing The Waters of Life at some point though, before you've explored every nook and cranny.

Thanks for the tip! .I just wanna max out certain skill points before prceeding with the rest of the main quest. As for gear, I don't even have ol'painless yet. Sick of being stuck with the regular hunting rifle. i have the licoln repeater but we all know .44 rounds are hard to come by and you often need travel back to vendors to restock on .44 rounds. i haven't gone to the Pitt yet.

Because without BS, things can abruptly end for you, the Lone Wanderer. Without BS, there is a definite game end, meaning credits and all. I found this out when FO3 was first released, with most of the map still unexplored, I had thought it was like Oblivion, where you can continue after doing the MQ. With BS installed, there is no end, until you start another character. So you're set.

You fight a lot enclave soldiers, ghouls and mutants during waters of life right? Any case, i am keen on engaging great variety foes. I got charon and dogmeat to back me up. I equipped charom with lucky shades, terribe shotgun, victory rifle, railway rifle and a sheesh kebab and set him to flank. Signed for Crowley's quest and got the ol' painless rifle. Rosie is now president of the republic of dave. hehhe Now, i need to complete reilly's rangers quest to avail better armor for charon. This game is enormous. Right now, i'm still disovering new locations and have only maxed out my energy and small guns skills.
