Post » Mon Jan 24, 2011 2:22 pm

Hello everyone I have played the stock game for over 600 hours. I am looking for mods that really enhance the oblivion experience. Graphical mods are a plus. Here is the list of what I have installed so far.

Qarl's Texture Pack 3 - Redimized
Natural Environments
Landscape LOD Texture Replacement
Elaborate Eyes
Elven Map Redux
Oblivion Stereo Sound Overhaul
Oblivion Backpacks
Operation Optimization
Immersive Interface

Please point me in the right direction. :foodndrink:

I have been to the nexus to get the mods I have now. I was hoping people would list mods they like so I can check them out. And maybe add them to my game.

I've not much knowledge about current mods. But try FCOM, it should give you entirely new experience

You could do worse than to check out the first several pages right here, checking out the [Relz] (i.e., release) threads that sound interesting. Of course, you would be missing lots that way, but you would still pick up many fantastic mods, and the latest versions of (and warnings/advice for) them as well.

Also, the Mod Psychics and Mod Detectives threads (probably more the former, in your case) are very useful, generally speaking.

Personally, other than what you already have (and in a few cases, in place of same), I would recommend: Bomret's Shivering Isles texture pack, Hi Res Oblivion Realm Textures, FCOM, All Natural, Race Balancing Project (RBP), Less Annoying Magic Experience (LAME), Better Cities, Really Almost Everything Viewable When Distant (RAEVWD) with all the addons, Unique Landscapes (all of them, with all patches, etc.), Persuasion Overhaul, Reneer's Guard Overhaul, DarkUId DarN, nGCD, Progress, Cobl, Enhanced Economy...

(phew!) And so many more... (that's just what comes to mind currently.)

But I really don't know what you'd like, so it's hard to say for sure.

edit: Whatever else you do, make sure you install Wrye Bash, BOSS, and the latest official and unofficial Oblivion patches, at the very least.

Get the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (and SI patch if you have SI.)

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1083479-need-some-help-or-idea/page__p__15787524&#entry15787524 - This one avoids overhauls (not counting MMM.)

I recommend NOT jumping into FCOM as a starting mod. I do not want you trying to go through its installation process, getting frustrated, and making a hasty decision about it or other mods.

Also, get http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/optimization/replacers/stock since you have onboard sound, especially with all of the other stuff you want to add. There is no reason for that to cost you some of the performance on that otherwise nice rig you have there. I guess you have already visited the Oblivion Texture Overhaul pages (TOTO?)
