straight behind imo... leave over the shoulder for shooters.

I honestly do not care so long as us first person players get the ability to lean around corners for enhanced stealth. It's not fair that you guys get to just zoom the camera out and look around for miles.

inb4 then use third person

I like first person :turned:

straight behind, over the shoulder is more fit for shooters and looks totally [censored] imo. but it's good for shooters, ofc.

I choose directly behind but I would like a more free form camera, I hate being stuck looking at my character's back all the time.

How about behind your back with melee weapons and behind the shoulder with ranged weapons and maybe magic(Depends on the magic system)?

Is it too much asking for both?

Or just three camera angle options in general. Other games have more than two so why not? For instance, starting in First Person now you are in directly behind Third Person Now you are in Over the shoulder back to First Person.
Everyone wins.

Er... neither. When the focus of a game is on melee combat, a third person camera in it shouldn't work at all like a first person camera. It shouldn't be stuck behind the character OR over their shoulder.

Or there could be an option in the gameplay section of the options menu on which third person view you want to use.
