Overhaul mod?

Post » Sat Jan 30, 2010 10:12 am

I have been doing some serious modding to make my game a lot more pleasing to the eye.

What I am wondering is if there is a complete overhaul like OOO in oblivion for Morrowind, if so what is it called and is it available from Planet Elder Scrolls

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=90 by Adam is the closest thing Morrowind has ever had to Oscuro's mod (you may recognize Adam from his Adventurers Mod for Oblivion).

You might also take a look at xereau's http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4248

There never was an overhaul for Morrowind on the scale of OOO, although there is talk about the subject from time to time. However, there are some nice pieces you can put together.

You might also consider Wakim's Game Improvements for gameplay tweaks, and Piratelord's Creatures X for additional critters.

Yacoby's http://search.yacoby.net/ is a good way to find mods.

MMM and OOO can best be described as attempts to make OB's levelled and scaled lists a lot more like MW's. The blatant over-scaling of the later game isn't present in MW, although it has its own set of "issues". MW mainly has a problem with running low on challenge at extremely high character levels, so MCA, Creatures, and a number of other mods attempt to add high-level adversaries to MW.

Personally I would consider the MCA as an overhaul in one aspect though. That's all road bandits you may encounter from time to time and other strange creature. :P

Why I wouldn't think of that.

There isn't really anything akin to OOO, FRANOOM, MMM or similar in Morrowind.
This is mostly because Morrowind doesn't have the broken level-scaling/poor quest structure that Oblivion has that gives rise to such all-encompassing overhauls.
Morrowind mods are much more targeted at specifics.

No, but it's good that you mentioned it here. It does add enough new aspects to the game to be considered an "overhaul" of sorts.
Same with http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=4077.

Personally, I would argue that PirateLord's Creatures mod is a good equivalent to Martigen's Monster Mod. Giants and Morrowind Advanced could also be cited, in my opinion.
