Overmodded?

Hi, I have been playing Oblivion GOTY + Expansions with various mods - OOO, QTP3,AWLS mainly - and decided to check out Better Cities. I then got really bad FPS. Can I remedy this, or is it way too much load on system? I'm running on MSI P67A with Intel 2500k and GT460 Graphics, and I've heard of people loading more than this with similar systems.

What were your frame rates before and after Better cities?? I'd also recommend QTP3 Redimised, as is a very very small loss in quality for a large performance gain. Also, do you use OSR??

I don't use Better Cities, but as I recall there is an FPS patch for it. You might wanna give that a try and see if it helps.

When i got bored of the constant stuttering i culled scripted mods with heavy hand. Oblivion is mostly processor intensive game (and doesn't do multi-threading), so mods constantly running scripts can cause FPS issues too. You may be able to improve FPS by removing some mods that run scripts, but Better Cities is a quite heavy mod. The amount of new NPCs in the Imperial City districts does cause major FPS issues for me too, but frankly i feel it's worth it ^_^

This site should also have some helpful tips, atleast it's predecessor did :hehe: http://tescosi.com/wiki/Main_Page

I couldn't be happier that in a few months i have a TES that isn't Oblivion. Well, i'd be happy with Oblivion on Fallout's version of the engine too :hehe:
